Tell me more of your thoughts on this one please.

I want to hear it from other perspectives.
Apollo702 2 hours ago
Hmmm. That is an interesting notion.

I feel very mixed about that one, upon thinking about it.

I need to be around more real people. That is one reason why I would consider townhome living if it got me around more happening people.

But online, I want more folks to STFU. I just blocked a major member seeing what he was posting and it made me want to puke...

At some point, life for most people became private rather than communal.

In May I get a week of flies and spiders in the house.

It happened this week.
Apollo702 21 hours ago
It has dialed back a bit for a while.

This Summer could be !!!!!
Fajita Jim 21 hours ago
45 now thinks it's suppose to hit 50 today. 70 tomorrow, though.

You all still under that heat tarp?
Apollo702 24 Mar @ 6:54pm
How is the weather there now?
Apollo702 24 Mar @ 6:53pm
I have more work to do.

But I just had a nice shower and shave anyways.

I was feeling grubby and the chin was scratchy.

Never mind that there is more to do. At least it can feel good while doing it.
Fajita Jim 24 Mar @ 6:24pm
Yard done for now. I get to relax and entertain myself till about midnight, she's at work.
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 6:58pm
There is a nightmare scenario in which unless we implement unheard of levels of socialism we have entire lost generations that end up homeless.

They potentially get herded into camps or millions wander the streets. The rest of us barricade ourselves behind gates.

An economic meltdown occurs with entire generations removed from production and contribution to the system...
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 6:52pm
We know that there is a very small club of us who when we were young we hit it hard!

We landed girls, we went to college, started businesses, made our money, figured it out...

And we have entire generations doing the polar opposite.

What more can we say or do?
Fajita Jim 23 Mar @ 6:50pm
Homeless diabetic porn-addicted incel weebs.

It's like a badly drawn comic.
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 6:48pm
Maybe some OT diet is good for all of us.

I think that QT 3.14 is descending into prostituting himself for meals now.

I think that is the fate of many. Many of us have been warning they can't screen themselves day and night when they are young. It will result in them being homeless.

I see this as the fate of entire generations to come.
Fajita Jim 23 Mar @ 6:43pm
Some people are a different breed of stupid.
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 6:40pm
In my final moments of health, I actually was writing the TOS.

There were preliminary versions that said that we won't list every scenario. Know that we don't care if you think that you are special. You must maintain at all times and we reserve the right to sanction anybody at any time for any reason.

Posting is a privilege- not a right.
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 6:31pm
Ha! IRC!

Yes, in 2003 I met my final fiancee' in one of the old Yahoo! chat rooms!

But that was the thing. It was actual people chatting!
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 6:30pm
The observations were:

1. Forums can bring out the worst in people.

2. If it has anything to do with tech- double rule #1.

Had my health not got taken from me- I was on the brink of creating a forum with BRUTAL standards of behavior.

Behave or be kicked to the curb!
Fajita Jim 23 Mar @ 6:29pm
I really miss when IRC was big. You'd just drop in a room and occasionally chat while doing your ♥♥♥♥.
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 6:28pm
The forums that I used to go to turned toxic as hell and I simply quit.

The few that I go to are for tech and I really only go there to look for things like program updates.

Other than that- NO!!
Fajita Jim 23 Mar @ 6:21pm
All the other forums I used to visit are dead. I wish there was a forum with age checks, lol.
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 4:36pm
And without you there- it looks like I will be going there very minimally.

Among the few unblocked threads are "I bet you shower naked."

No. I can't do it. I just can't waste time on people that stupid.

If there is nothing worth discussing then, I will just check the bell and see if any of you have anything to say. Other than that- I don't think so!
Apollo702 23 Mar @ 4:32pm
Oh come on!

But take heart. It made people mad enough to probably mass report.

We all know that it is dead on the money!
Fajita Jim 23 Mar @ 1:06pm
So I'm fighting a months ban for that Red States are Fat post. lol
Apollo702 22 Mar @ 6:04pm
One of the few garden tools that got retained was the electric leaf blower.

Those are great for blowing out garages and driveways.
Apollo702 22 Mar @ 4:09pm
Apply that rule to live purchases of both plant an animal.

Saving nickels and dimes simply isn't worth it.
Fajita Jim 22 Mar @ 1:57pm
Sounds like busy work.
Apollo702 21 Mar @ 9:07pm
One aquatic tip:

Buy only from sources that have strict practices such as quarantines.
Apollo702 21 Mar @ 9:05pm
I saw that as I am about to reboot.

I don't feel like going out and maybe it will be a C6 night when I am not working on some things.

One of the tanks has turned into a disaster(parasites being the big problem) and I feel drained.

And OT feels increasingly like an echo chamber for us. There only are a few grownups left.
Fajita Jim 21 Mar @ 9:02pm
Bah. All the good posters are long gone.

I've been binging on Civ 5 but I've got to get in bed early. I have a 10am appointment on Monday, yikes!
Apollo702 21 Mar @ 7:57pm
This may be another no-OT weekend.

They do not appear to be worth the keystrokes again.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 6:37pm
Ah!

A fresh shower and shave feel like a million bucks!
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 5:20pm
I still have not tried 7 so I can't say either way. Who knows what 8 would have?
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 5:17pm
I fully expect the next Civilization to utilize AI models for the AI. It could get ... interesting.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 5:08pm
You mentioned embargoes.

Another one is simply being able to produce settlers faster and grabbing land to build cities near key resources before they get a chance.

Without them, forget it. They are stuck.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 4:58pm
And in 6 there is an even stronger anti-war bias.

The computer will periodically declare fake wars that frequently do little and then they have diplomatic freakouts when one actually captures cities or wipes someone out.

But if one is on the warpath, then let them lose their temper and issue denunciations, That just signals who is about to get mowed down next.
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 4:58pm
I mean I've had Dido embargoed for about a century now. She can't afford ♥♥♥♥.

Tactical play, not luck.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 4:50pm
Yes- but they are so bad at producing that once that first wave is gone, then it's just a matter of picking off their cities one-by-one.

Even when the AI talks aggressively, their mouth is writing checks their military can't cash.
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 4:49pm
I for one enjoy taking out an entire navy on the very first turn of declared war.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 4:46pm
Earlier I mentioned that things like bodybuilding/obesity or prosperity/poverty are magnifications.

Warfare is one that AI simply is terrible at. They can fumble around and give the illusion of being a competitor.- but ask it to truly keep up, produce, use tactics and strategy and it is going to completely melt down.

Kicking it's butt after a certain point isn't much fun when the outcome is a mere formality by that point.
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 4:45pm
See the thing about the Shoshone, when you grab a goody hut with the unique Pathfinder unit you get to pick your reward.

Tech up.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 4:43pm
I also like to stretch out the speed.

Then even something as simple as grabbing just one more goody hut or sacking one more barbarian outpost and then using that surplus cash to rush just one granary starts the process of leaving the stumbling AI in the dust...
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 4:41pm
I can appreciate art, I don't really DO art, though.
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 4:41pm
At this point Civ 5 isn't playing anymore, it's reacting. I know just what needs to go in what square based solely on math and known outcomes. I can turn any city into a 5-turn per unit factory by the Atomic Era.

Marathon speed, always.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 4:41pm
And if you like lit art- you know that I make that exact sort of thing.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 4:38pm
And regarding situational thinking; I swear, every time I play 4X games like Civ. these absurd situations happen when the Ai has failed so badly that they are trying to shoot down our stealth bombers with spearmen.

Skilled players from turn 1 are going to start making decisions that start this process early and the further we go, the more it compounds...
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 4:38pm
An occupied gibbet is always a nice conversation piece.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 4:36pm
Some of those decor really strike me- but again, they are very very situational.
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 4:35pm
Systems thinking.
Fajita Jim 20 Mar @ 4:35pm
Those are okay. I'm more drawn to things that light up in interesting ways, though.
Apollo702 20 Mar @ 4:32pm
I have late games like that all the time- but isn't that what people like us are doing in real life?

We figure things out and put ourselves on a trajectory in which we pull so far ahead that it becomes absurd!
