"I want to collect ppl for a team and mentor them to give them a good start into competitive tf2, would you be willing to mentor the pyro?" - this was more or less what diu asked me a few weeks ago. It was a highly ambitious project, and i knew it would require a lot of effort & organization to pull off.

I was already mentoring quite a few pyros, so i didnt mind mentoring one more and accepted diu's request. Diu posted recruiment posts and hastily recruited nearly a full team.Then, just when the "project" was ready to start Diu's internet was cut off.

I tried to do my best to make the first scrim & maptalk happen. Mia & Cobz were very helpful and ambitious, and together we were able to organize a handful of events.

I agree, that communication on our side could have been better - but this project was not intended as a babycare. We were ready to offer YOU our knowledge and assist YOU forming a team. That meant, that you'd come with your questions directly to us, and act out of your own abitions. Instead, expect for a few exceptions - we needed to push most of you repeatedly to check the spreadsheet, fill the spreadsheet, join the mumble, join the right channel, talk out loud and whatnot.

You may be new to competitive, but you are grown humans. Not toddlers.
So i expected you to be able to at least check & fill the spreadsheet regulary.

We did not have a very good communication within the whole group, between mentors & mentors, mentors & mentees and most of all mentees & mentees.

A few of you can barely talk english well enough to communicate, which was a condition to even participate in this project - so i dont quite get why you are here in the first place/why diu recruited you. While this applies to a very small amount of ppl - only an even smaller amount of ppl would talk freely in mumble. The remaining ppl stayed mostly mute. Some literally, being muted throughout the full maptalks. Even outside of mumble you ppl were not good at communicating and we are simply sick of this.

It is our own fault for recruiting ppl to hasty & without proper selection - but we are not willing to pull you forcibly through all of this. A project like this can only work if EVERYONE is serious & ambitious.

THEREFORE WE DISBAND THE PROJECT.

BUT (!) : We only disband the team project - i know there are some of you who were very eager & ambitious. The mentoring for each class will continue for those who want it. We just wont continue trying to make you play as a team.
