Technically it should probably be added as an Informational entry for consistency sake, even if it is pretty vapid.

There are quite a few female companion mods out there that have female Dragonborn affirming romance dialogue (SDA comes to mind where she yells at enemies to "Leave my girlfriend alone!" for example, which is either sweet or eye rolling, depending on your disposition) but I don't believe modded content is applicable to the main listing.
fhqwhgads 8 hours ago
I have to disagree slightly on Skyrim mods, the Serana dialogue overhaul is fun and seems to drop hints that Serana may well be into women independently of the player's gender. But yes, the base game experience is pretty bare-bones, and frankly the game doesn't even really have any same-sex romance acknowledgement outside of the PC being able to marry the same sex. Still, some entries on the list only have slightly more content.
DamnMeAgain 15 hours ago
It's not on the list. Not much of a loss though. Skyrim's "romance" and marriage is about as engaging as writing yes on a marriage form. Not even modders could ever make romance or marriage have any substance in that game.
But yes, you can marry women as a female dragonborn and even adopt children and buy a house together.
lys_xen 24 Mar @ 7:37pm
Was Skyrim included on the list? I don't see anything on the steam page, but sometimes I overlook it. You can make a female character, and marry a female npc.

Waterside Chirping and Flowering Across are now available in English. 2 stories about the same couple. The languages can be switched in the library if needed (right click a game -> properties).

Female protagonist that can marry Frieren (you can choose male too, but it won't trigger the secret map where you marry Frieren)

Almost certainly unavoidable het, see - "The story unfolds, alternating between Lena & Ian's viewpoint!"
Maybe you can just choose not do anything as the ML but I doubt it.

looks like it's only coming into EA

I've played the demo of Qelochia--the game has 4 protagonists that the story switches between, and two of them are women who start dating each other partway through the story. IDK whether the relationship lasts through the end of the full game though, it's the kind of story where I wouldn't take it as a given lol

This has an LGBT tag on steam and a GirlxGirl tag on VNDB so probably yes? But looking for confirmation at the moment.

It's a little subtexty but on the other hand you can overtly express both attraction to and romantic interest in
the scary skeleton lady

Not sure if this game has ever come up before but it is possible to be in a f/f relationship with a character but it's kind of a meme? / secret. So it might be worth mentioning with an asterisk.

Early in the game, a player (male or female) character of a specific background can state they were past lovers with the main antagonist who is now sort of a female religious fanatic. This will lead to interactions with them having unique flirtatious dialogue throughout the game, and even a secret ending where you and her sorta rule together. The reason I say it's kind of a meme is that she was reincarnated as a literal skeleton (she wears a mask for most of the game) and is a real evil ♥♥♥♥♥♥, and in order for things to not end in violence, you need to fulfill a special set of criteria throughout the game which involves being evil. (Only 0.2% of players got the achievement).
Hanako Games 14 Mar @ 12:51pm
yeah I'm definitely not perfect and it sometimes comes down to "did they send me a copy", "do i personally ship it" and other such things :D
mapts 14 Mar @ 12:49pm
Fair enough, for what it's worth I actual agree that it probably doesn't belong on this list. My confusion was when I compared it to some informational reviews on here on games that have even less explicit romance/more subtextual (I don't remember the specific games and I don't want to search through everything again)
Hanako Games 14 Mar @ 5:54am
I do not remember the details but I feel like we talked about CRYSTAR when it came out and decided probably not. But feel free to make a thread for it in the discussion area in order to better present evidence and let people find the game if they might be interested in it.

Ex Voto is kind of a special case because the relationship is the driving force of the story and it's pretty clearly suggested to be romantic, if not necessarily sexual, but I'm underselling the description a bit because well, the game experience sucks and the ending is WTF and anyone playing this for a yuri romance will be pissed off so I feel like it's safer to downplay it, giving room for people to maybe enjoy it if they're not expecting much.
DamnMeAgain 14 Mar @ 12:13am
CRYSTAR was made by the same devs who made CRYMACHINA, which is an actual yuri game and very good. Crystar is neither. But it does have some yuri subtext. Also girls with former het relationships. I personally don't see any value to adding this on the list, but tastes may differ. Even so, this curator is meant to help people find yuri games... I just fear that all the recent subtext focus may muddle this idea a bit.
mapts 13 Mar @ 1:53pm
https://store.steampowered.com/app/981750/CRYSTAR/

I'd argue this is pretty gay (in a jrpg moe way). Nothing explicit but a huge amount of subtext (and some overt-text). YuriEmpire has a review on it.
lys_xen 12 Mar @ 10:54pm
I haven't played it. I think it is based on the Store Page. Further down it does say the player can customize gender, and there are varied skins. Above it the text says something about your spouse being kidnapped.
DamnMeAgain 12 Mar @ 8:57am
So I see Echoes of the Soul was added. Did someone get some more reliable info on the game that confirms the female love interest thing? I really couldn't discern how solid that was from the trailer and demo.
DamnMeAgain 8 Mar @ 11:08pm
That being said... I cannot possibly predict whether the Remake (third one btw) will actually add some textual yuri bad ending just to mess with me. It will never have a good ending involving twincest though, that goes directly against its plot and themes.
DamnMeAgain 8 Mar @ 11:02pm
Fatal Frame 2 has never been yuri per se. It's a little complicated because "incestuous obssession" is sort of a theme in the game and series as a whole, but the main factor here is the twin sister getting possessed and wanting to become "one" with protag, which is actually just literal and not raunchy. It's culty stuff.
Mainly the game is about co-dependence which is at least adjacent to romantic themes sometimes, but the game does not try to actually have any romance or raunchy things happen.

I am sure some people will absolutely insist that there is twincest subtext to this game, but not only does the sequel make abundantly cleat that this is not relevant, it's not even remotely textual enough to qualify for this curator even if it was.
Hanako Games 8 Mar @ 8:35pm
glancing at some upcoming games

AFAIK the Fatal Frame II remake still doesn't really qualify even with the hand-holding because they're sisters and there's no actual romance? (Correct me if I'm wrong. Someone did tag it LGBT!)

saccharine echo - only love interest is non-binary so not for this list.
Caelus 5 Mar @ 1:53pm
Read Taleweavers Alliance. It's short, about 30 minutes in total.
The 4th story, Truth of the self, is 5 minutes long and it's about a girl realizing she's "different" after meeting another girl on the street. It's kinda symbolic, but the metaphor is obvious.
Also the 2nd story, Eagle and the Star Maze, is a (even shorter) creation myth which briefly shows a picture of two female looking figures holding hands when it talks about love.
Hanako Games 5 Mar @ 6:18am
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4356450/Taleweavers_Alliance_Anthology/

This has LGBT tags but doesn't clarify the content - haven't tried to go through it yet.
Hanako Games 5 Mar @ 6:18am
Relationships? Emotion? Dating? Interest in each other beyond just sex battles? As I see it at the moment it should get a listing but not at full recommend level because it doesn't sound like it's romantic.
Kailally 4 Mar @ 8:32pm
Define romance?
Hanako Games 4 Mar @ 3:29am
Guessing there's nothing romantic in that, though?

Been keeping tabs on this one, and it just released a few days ago. Haven't played it yet, but I'm familiar with the creator's other works. Based on content description and screenshots should be full yuri with some futanari.
Anarcho Tribadist 3 Mar @ 10:11pm
the fact that it is tagged villain protagonist does help a bit
DamnMeAgain 3 Mar @ 7:07pm
I guess it's not for everyone, but it's up to you how to handle laws and how you treat the girls. The dev gives you the option of going for the harmony route or to be as geedy and evil as you want to be to achieve your goals. Treat monstergirls as citizens or as resources, it's up to you.
Anarcho Tribadist 3 Mar @ 1:24pm
I'm glad to hear that but I'm also like, a bit put off by the monstergirl eugenics mechanics

I have confimed now that this game exclusively features yuri content. There is an 18+ patch for it on itch too which will enable the ero.

Truly a conundrum...
Caelus 1 Mar @ 4:36am
But the first is the only one without the lesbian couple, so automatically it cannot be the best :happykitty:
DamnMeAgain 1 Mar @ 2:20am
Most fans of the series seem to agree that only the first Fear Effect was any good. But that's up to taste I suppose.
Caelus 1 Mar @ 2:02am
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3509140/Fear_Effect_2_Retro_Helix/

Never played the series myself but this is the port of a PS1 game that was pretty famous/infamous back then for having a lesbian relationship between the two female leads.
Afaik it was pretty male gaze-y (not surprising since it's a 2001 game) but the 2018 sequel, which is already on the list, should be much better in that regard.
lys_xen 27 Feb @ 6:29pm
Witch and Lilies is currently in Early Access and those don't get put on the list. Once it does, at least based on the store description, it probably will be added.
スイレン94 27 Feb @ 5:58pm
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2525810/Witch_and_Lilies/

I noticed that there wasn't a recommendation for this, so I figured it might be worth looking into, especially considering the store page description :3
Franka_Scythe 25 Feb @ 9:25am
I played a good amount of https://store.steampowered.com/app/2511800/Dead_in_Antares/

There are multiple optional F/F romantic outcomes, though it takes a long time to get there. Maxing out the first relationship meters took about 50 (long micromanaged) in game days of frequently pairing up tasks.
Hanako Games 24 Feb @ 5:18am
Yeah I have definitely seen games tagged female protagonist when they just mean the main onscreen character - at least that makes slightly more sense than some of the tag nonsense I run into. A *lot* of times the tags are applied by developers who don't pay attention or don't care about whether they're accurate, or are just plain spamming.
卡尔玛还在害人 24 Feb @ 4:53am
I checked the simplified Chinese store description, and it clearly states "male protagonist," so it's definitely a problem with the confusing labeling. It's a shame; I was hoping for a yuri game...
DamnMeAgain 24 Feb @ 4:11am
Maybe the understand of what a "protagonist" is differs in these Asian languages? Maybe they consider it to mean something like "main role", which can technically apply to the love interests too. Or maybe these community based tags just suck lol
Caelus 24 Feb @ 2:45am
@DamnMeAgain I've been noticing the same for a while about many Chinese het harem FMV games released in the past year. I was starting to think that maybe the tag in Chinese has a different or ambiguous meaning, but the one you posted is Japanese so who knows?
I always report the tag but it will probably take a lot of people doing it to force them to remove it.
DamnMeAgain 23 Feb @ 9:32pm
I'm currently going through the Next Fest catalogue and filtered by the "female protagonist" tag, which brought up this game.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4004740/Roommates_Romance_and_Ringing_Hearts_Demo/
I don't believe these male self-insert live action dating games would ever give a female protag option, so is this just false tagging by users? There is no LGBT tag, so it seems extra weird...
B Unit 23 Feb @ 12:21pm
Not curator relevant yet but Witchs Bakery has a demo out for those interested. Its an upcoming game where the main character enters a romance with another woman over the course of running her shop. As far as I know, there is just the one romance so it's canon yuri.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2967950/The_Witchs_Bakery/

Also Gray Haven has a new DLC out but if its anything like the main game, don't expect any meaningful romance. While yuri, the "romance" mostly comes in the form of contrived porn scenarios.

From the description my best guess is that the relationship dynamics *probably* include f/f somewhere
