Apparently Steam has just recently blocked the LGBTQ+ tag for Chinese accounts. It gives an error message now if they click and try to browse on it.

eh, pronoun choice is better but it's a fair way to make a game inclusive

I listed it in the previous Next Fest topic, but Hanako said it had no pronoun choice, so I dismissed it. Even so the pronouns seem to be more of an afterthought.
Not like self-insert games that try their best to avoid addressing the protagonist's gender are very interesting anyway.

I've only played the first Kathy Rain game so far but from what I've heard the lesbian subtext between Kathy and her roommate Eileen is a lot more blatant in the sequel, though still not explicit

Yeah I think they sent me a copy of the director's cut at some point and I researched it and was like "There's a TINY something but not enough for the list probably" and then never actually played it.

It turned out I wasn't completely correct about Kathy Rain. I found a screenshot I took when I played it in 2022 showing that, if you interact with Kathy's guitar in her room she says "My electric guitar, got it cheap from a lesbian I met at a concert".
Dunno why they'd put this tiny inconsequential detail in, but something gay *is* technically in the game, lol
Maybe if the next game is a prequel we'll get to see this mysterious rocking lesbian XD

I only played the first Kathy Rain but there wasn't anything remotely gay unfortunately.

Aside from the lesbians, which are very important of course, what concerns me most with Point&Clicks is how much moon logic they use. There are so few I could ever finish without a guide.

They definitely said somewhere that you don't have to play the first, there are references but not required. At least I think I read that. Anyway I like point-and-clicks so it's definitely something I might just buy.

I recommend giving it a shot, I liked the first one and the dev used to be on social media, they were pretty cool.

Since cyberpunk games have a strong tendency to include lesbians I asked and the dev said yes they're in there somewhere - I don't at this point know the extent of the content. I may ask more questions, I may play the game, who knows, but I'm flagging this for interest.

I was thinking about getting The Quiet Things, but then I saw both the price and that the developer replied to a anti-woke chud in the forum, thanking them for their support while making a centrist defense of the game to reassure them that it's not meant to be "woke", so I kinda lost the interest tbh...

I was interested in this when it first came out but I quickly assumed it didn't have any yuri, however I recently saw a trailer (or video teaser) of the two leads kissing and I went back to the reviews and someone said "Robot Yuri". Anyone know anything about this one?

Futa free, though there is some use of toys. Pretty fun for just $5 but is a bit jank... I was not able to finish the story mode because my game froze up and it wanted me to start over I think, but don't expect a deep romance or anything based on what I saw... free mode was fun enough.

looks like I was sent a copy of this years back and forgot about it (partly because I don't do 3d so the chances of me actually playing it enough to find out how clear it is or how it ends are basically none)

I found the initial submission notes and at least at the time the dev insisted it was a love story between the two girls, so combined with the tagging I'm going to go ahead and list it.

I don't know if this counts as its own game or just an add-on to the main game in this series but this doesn't seem to be on any lists rn and it maybe should be?

Just thought I'd throw this one out here, it definitely doesn't belong on any list but it is a FMC raunchy/comedic game and a lot of the enemies are monster girls, so some queer situations occur. That being said it is a fully ASCII game that leans much more into the comedic side of horny. Definitely no romance or even sex involved.

Re: Road to Empress 2 - I've played both paths to completion and sadly the romance didn't continue. One one path, there was an explicit FxF choice, but it ends badly. The other path might have a moment of subtext. To be honest, I don't think it fits the list.

I definitely do not have a copy of Project Absentia and don't know what's up with that game - it is possible there is content I know nothing about, the reviews are sort of confusing, but it is explicitly about a female protagonist with a girlfriend so....

I've noticed that the older I get, the less I want to engage with bad endings. The real world is sad enough, let me have some positivity in fiction at least.

It's a major story element that drives a lot of the character motivations (and not in a cute way).
There are actually 5 protagonists and 2 yuri couples. I don't want to get into spoilers, but one couple goes for heavy drama, while the other goes for a happier conclusion.
It's not a long game, so these elements are front and center.
