Some bananas can carry the larvae of a type of nematode called the "banana worm" or Radopholus similis. These nematodes can infest banana plants and severely damage them by boring into the roots, which can ultimately cause the plants to wilt and die. This makes banana farming challenging and can lead to significant crop losses.
