found the real fix to the memory overload or "black screen", make sure you got all the content, then set your join on download to only the map and your gucci

I used this on my broken HL2 Episode 2 download I hope it works xd

Dear Hazaar Star, I once faced teh same problem you have. I would search the internet for answers, but due to this problem being a very rare occurance among people and their opperating systems, I couldn't find an answer.

I myself created a fix for the problem. You are the second person I have met with this problem (first was Tavo).


TO FIX PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW

1. Go-to Steam Library
2. Right Click on "Garry's Mod"
3. Go-to "Properties"
4. Click "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS"
5. Put "-dxlevel 70"
6. Click "Ok", then try to join!

I got a problem, so whenever I try to join this server my game breaks. The screen is black, but I can hear game sounds and people. I've tried reinstalling but to no avail. Can anyone help?

It'd be nice to adhere like that to lore, but the problem is you have to almost completely reorient the server to fit that. Admittedly, it's really only one time, but a development change like that is a big leap
