Back in my day my Gran had brain Cancer. One day my mum left me alone with her, and she grabbed my arm and pleaded with me, on the verge of tears, to get her out of there. back in my day it was a 40 mile trek to granny doris' place, uphill through snow. there was a troll guarding a bridge half-way there who demanded your legs as toll, so you had to do half the journey with just your arms. and when we finally arrived there was no ice cream or sweeties to spoil us and rot our teeth, just tea and scones. and doris.
