Congrats to all the prophets who saw this coming, hope you're happy you can scream that you were right.

I waited a year to be extra sure Harry wasn't just afk for a really long time, but I'm pretty sure he's gone for good. Not sure where he is, but I hope it's a better place. I wanted this to work out as badly as anyone else, but there's really nothing I can do to fix it myself. Vrej helped for about a week or two before going off to his own projects, later telling me he didn't want to fix it. Nak (the creator of StormFox) offered to fix tiny bugs but nothing really developed out of that, and the advice he gave me was to start from scratch. It makes sense. However, there's really nothing I can do and there's nothing anyone else wants to do about it except from you guys, which I don't wanna give free reign of this content over to. It takes thousands of hours of experience and skill and knowledge to be able to complete a project like this, and I simply don't have that. I also don't have the time or motivation to pick up this skill, with my real life taking priority over that kind of endeavor.
As a side note, the people I mentioned here aren't to blame for it. Don't go witch hunting them or throwing blame/shade at them. In addition, the mod will still remain on the workshop. Not sure how long it'll be supported, but if anything happens that breaks stuff I'll see what I can do about it.

The release will happen. I’m confident we can get something churned up this day. But it won’t be a full release. Harry Dalton (the main coder and developer,) disappeared four months ago and none of us have heard from him since. I (Business Cat,) did not have an up-to-date copy of the mod from right before he disappeared. The copy I had was from two years ago. I was missing two years worth of content, and the version I had was 60% unfinished and littered with bugs and half of the stuff didn’t work. It was completely unreleasable. I cannot code and nor will I lie and say I can, which meant I could not update the mod to what it was supposed to be.

I was this close to posting an announcement saying this whole project was canceled. Harry was gone with the copy I needed, and there was no way I could ever bring it back to what it was before he left. That being said, five minutes before I was going to post the announcement, I got a message from a friend who told me one of Harry’s friends had a copy and was told by Harry himself to give it to me.

So long story short, I now have three different copies of up to date versions of the mod and all of them have bugs and excluded content scattered throughout. One version is somewhat ready for release but has 60% of the content expunged because of unreliability, another version has everything but is extremely buggy, and the other is EXTREMELY buggy. Here’s the deal. I’m going to release the dumbed down version for right now as it has what you guys mainly want (tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes,) and work with DrVrej to get the rest of the content implemented within the following days/weeks if necessary. This went off from nightmare scenario really quickly and now we’re breaking our backs to get you guys something to enjoy.

Please don’t be mad at me. I’m trying my best working with Vrej to get this working. I can guarantee you’ll have tornadoes today but a lot of the rest of the stuff is in the air. I’m really sorry about all of this but please just be glad you’re getting something today.

I hope you can understand my situation as I really want this to succeed as much as you all do.

As of current, the scheduled release date of gDisasters is...July 4th 2018. I say sheduled because anything can happen between now and then. But this is unlikely.

And yes, we are aware that it was said to be released in 2017 however that is no longer the case.

Just consider this as your late-late 2017 christmas present from us here at gDisasters.
