Spy Death to Mr. Soldier

You did so scream 'BALANCE', Mr. Plays-Soldier-The-Class-Most-Spies-Don't-Give-A-Damn-About.

Did you know, in my two and a half hours of play as soldier, I've turned around at best sporadically, since the speed just makes me give up on defensive movement, and yet I've only died a total of (roughly) five times to spy stabs.

Plus, the argument that 'good spies don't need these silly new items anyway' is pretty self-evident. If they didn't get good with the old items before the new ones came out, they'd still be bad now.

My problem was not with balance, so much as disproportionately rewarding retards. Good spies will likely ignore both these unlocks (and if they dont, they're good spies so they'd probably have killed you anyway?), bad ones however...

I'm growing increasingly paranoid.

DKG Dearest's first reaction to the poster was something along the lines of "PERMA-INVISIBILITY WTF VALVE", and some ranting about balance, but I'm more concerned about this 'magic corpse' business.

I was ambushed by a (thankfully) bad spy today, so I pulled out my needles and gave him a lacerated chest. Then I seized up, and went "Oh god, what have I done."

When I shoot a stream of sharp projectiles at a person, I want him to die. I do not want him to pretend to die the second the first needle hits, laugh nastily while I panic-spray in circles around me until my ammo runs out, then stab me in the face.

Watching this particular spy slump at my feet instead made me feel better, though. Like a glass of warm milk, and a cuddle. Valve, I trust you, but please. Think of the medics.

Ginger Cookies

I made ginger cookies yesterday. They're pretty good - crunchy and spicy and rolled in cinnamon sugar. They took forever to bake though, my oven is ridiculous. I really should go get myself an oven thermometer.

Today I shall have some with vanilla ice cream and maple syrup, tomorrow perhaps milk and rum.
