Fishwork Fishing Planet Fishing Tournament Winners Announced!

It was a reel tight line between our leaders at the end, but here's how things washed out.

1st place - HunterShoe w/ 465 points
2nd place - Kaokogs Sister w/ 219 points
3rd place - Minecrafter w/ 98 points

HunterShoe's largest fish, a nearly 22 lb, ~45" flathead catfish, was just large enough to max out the prize pool, congratulations (we'll stop by the ATM later today, buddy).

Unfortunately, my 512 points don't count because I can't enter my own contest and Pimuqa was disqualified for not submitting his screenshots by the deadline/trolling HunterShoe the entire time by never intending to enter the competition in the first place.

Thanks for entering, maybe we'll do this again soon if xXGreeXx promises not to be a party pooper.

Fishwork Fishing Planet Fishing Tournament - Update #3

This update is just a reminder to make sure that you post the screenshots of your top five fish before midnight on the 21st. If you don't post your screenshots on time, then you're automatically disqualified.

Also, there are prizes for 2nd and 3rd place as well, but only if you post your best fish screenshots. Second place will get first choice between two different prizes and 3rd place will get what's left.

Happy fishing!

Fishwork Fishing Planet Fishing Tournament - Update #2

I'm happy to see that at least some of you are hooked on the tournament. While it's still early in the game, I going to make one tweak to the rules. The points system and cash prize will stay the same, however, the winner will be the fisherman (or woman) with the most points for their top five fish combined (as tracked by the game). The prize money will only be calculated bass-ed on your single top fish, but now you have a chance to win even if you don't have the largest fish overall. I want to reward skill and variety instead of just baiting everyone into angling for the same species.

If you haven't joined the tournament yet, there's still plenty of time to get on-line and CATch up to everyone. Remember, there's no rules about meta-gaming, reading guides, or whatever. You should be using all your cognitive assets to scale up your skills.

Fishwork Fishing Planet Fishing Tournament - Update #1

Cast away your doubt, the last announcement wasn't just trolling, the Fishwork Fishing Planet Fishing Tournament is for reel.

The tournament starts RIGHT NOW and ends on June 21st at midnight EST. I'll award the winner in a ceremony at the BBQ on June 23rd. The winner will be determined using the following criteria, one point for each inch of fish length, and 5 points for each pound of fish weight. The prize will be awarded to the fisherman with the fish that earns the most points and the dollar value of the prize will be equal to the number of points. The cap on the prize will be $150.

Your entry must be posted on Steam by the deadline via a screenshot of your list of best catches, that way we'll have proof of the size, weight, date, and your player name all in one place.

Now that you know what's on the line, why not get your feet wet? You'll never win unless you fry.
