I'd suggest the Facepunch TF2 forums ( www.facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=277 ) for the answer to that... problem is, today they seem to be down for some reason. Just check back there tomorrow. Lot of folks willing to take on good concepts and should be able to get an answer on the fair use issue.

Thanks. :) Actually I'm overloaded at the moment with Halloween item concepts. There are several that I've already had to drop due to time constraints. I'm hoping to get at least three more done before time is up (sometime next week).

Hi, great job on the new Sniper set you've put up on the workshop! I'd like to add you because I have some serious concepts of 2 items in tf2, both hats. Addme if it sounds interseting. Heyas Logmun, sorry... I didn't see your question, been keeping my head down in work. For transparency, it's best to assign it as a different material in your modeling program. That means two textures (the max) in the importer, but it's the only way to keep non-transparent parts from creating render order issues. Then just tick the "additive" checkbox in the importer for the glass/transparent material. Hope that helps. :)

Hey, I have a couple questions regarding an item i'm working on. I've been searching for a little while and havent come up with much. My issue is regarding transparency on some items and I noticed that your broombot submission has the glass effect I was looking for. I was wondering if you could give me some help on how to do that.

The Poopy Joe model isn't finished. He only has one salute animation and one "floating in liquid" animation which were used for koth_skyward. :)

Those are actually getting revised and re-released within the next month or so. Check on tf2maps.net for Japanese themed props or for Eleryn's "arena_suijin" thread.

Meanwhile, if you want to make the existing ones work in gmod, feel free. Just don't decompile or redistribute.

G' day. *Tips hat.* My apologies for the random add. I did read that you don't accept them, but I thought it couldn't hurt to try seeing as I wasn't sure how else to contact you. I've been requested to hex a couple of your items for Garry's Mod, the Japanese Paper Lanterns [forums.tf2maps.net] and Japanese Paper Privacy Screens [forums.tf2maps.net], but do not want to proceed without your permission. There will be proper credits in the descriptions and links to both the original downloads along with your profile as well.

I use 3ds Max, but I've heard good things about Blender which is free. Personally I didn't like it when I tried it awhile back. Lots of people use it though and get very good results with it.

You could also try finding an older version of XSI Mod Tool, which I used a LOT (in fact, I still do some mesh work in XSI since I'm much faster in that than I am in Max). Unfortunately XSI is really terrible for rigging, so you'd have to export to something more useful, such as Max or Maya.

What's a good free program to use for making stuff? I have a few ideas of my own I would like to make, but I don't know what software to use. (I'm a decent 2D artist. I want to give 3D a try. :P)

Would you mind looking at some of me and bombzopple's stuff? They're pretty nice but they don't get much attention as they lack good thumbnails.
