It has been over half a year since the last offline World of Tanks event was hosted within the Electronic Sports League (ESL) but now it is time to load your shells, upgrade your armour and form a formidable force to compete within the next great competition.

To get your team to the offline arena it is no easy task, seeing teams battle it through six qualification cups, four within Europe and two for the home territory of the competition, Poland. The qualification cups will be played in a single elimination best of three format. The eight talented finalists from the qualification cups will then be invited to the ultimate World of Tanks arena in Katowice.

The Polish Qualifier
The Polish teams will have the chance to qualify through the Polish Qualifiers, with each qualifier offering two slots to the two teams that manage to reach the finals. A polish team must have at least six polish players, with only one foreign player.

The European Qualifier
The European teams will have the chance to qualify through the European Qualifiers, with each qualifier offering one slot to the victor of the finals. Each qualifier will be attached to a region seeing qualifiers for both Eastern and Western Europe. There will also be a Nordic and Baltic qualifier. Each qualifier must have six players from the region, allowing one foreigner to join the team.

The Grand Finals will be held during the Intel Extreme Masters Event in Katowice near the Czech-Polish border with the event taking place on the 18th to the 19th January 2013 in the Spodek Arena.

Some of the other names involved will strike familiarity to readers, such as vioqor, of team Infused, ephix and Rage Gaming fame, his long time teammate fooZar, who was also our Head CoD2 news writer , _z0d, the coder behind the revolutionary zPAM and one of the newest additions to the Tek-9 family, while the LAN staff appeals to the local teams with the hard working marty, whose team sk.thxovci has won several of the last local czech LAN's.

That is why it is so refreshing to see that this previously modest event, which will be held at the new District.Prague gaming arena has been met with such enthusiasm from the CoD2 community. Good things do not go unnoticed, so the crew behind the event is happy to announce they've procured massive sponsors, who will donate over 5000€ into the prizepot for the tournament. With never before seen levels of enthusiasm, this event is on course to be one of the largest CoD2 tournaments of all time.As such it is interesting to note even dedicated CoD4 players are desperate to make an appearance, especially with community mainstay Paradox also working on this event.

So far, the first CoD4 team forming will be centered around Paradox, but they are definitely not the last. Even teams who have long been gone from the CoD2 community are reactivating for this tournament, the Latvian ensemble of Mindgyver who was last seen at Wonderbase 2007 and the eSuba team from the golden days of CoD2, centered around luckeR. The Czech powerhouse has been mostly gone from Call of Duty 2 since mid 2009, after leaving that season's EuroCup due to a controversy centered around the Slovenian side of STRUDLS. It will be interesting to see if any grudges have been transmitted over the years, with CoD2TLS admin fooZar the focus of much of the criticism in the tumultous year of 2009.

So without further a do, the new triggers are slightly dependent on the amount of teams paying for the LAN, but that should only serve to motivate teams to spread the word around further. The sponsor money caps out at 32 teams, a figure that definitely seems realistic given the massive interest so far.

The cash will be paid out at the venue in full, the triggers are therefore:

Arctic Combat - Country Championship

The open beta for Arctic Combat has been ongoing for quite a while and now it's time for some serious competition. Early in 2013 we will bring you the Arctic Combat Country Tournament powered by Webzen. In the Country Tournament teams will first play a national qualifier and will then have a chance to battle it out for 500€ prize money, if they manage top proceed to the finals.

National Qualifier

There will be five different qualifiers, four qualifiers are bound to different countries amongst Europe and one qualifier will be for teams from all countries without an own national qualifier. Countries with a national qualifier can't participate in the open qualifier!

To participate in a National Qualifier at least 3 of your active line-up players need to have their permanent place of residence in the respective country! All invalid applications will be rejected!
