I was actually a mod for ozfur on a completely different account (that account got compromised 2 weeks ago) by password guess.. I completely forgot about ozfur ever since I stopped playing back in 2014. It's so weird because I remember playing on ozfur clearly but I just can't wrap my head around that I actually played it. It feels like I didn't when in fact I 100% did... I remember leon hunter.. he was the best man ever except he smokes.. Ozfur was a big part of my childhood in playing tf2 vsh. Gotta be the all time greatest vsh servers to ever exist. Sad to see its gone.. Whats up fellow og ozfur players.

INVADE A MINECRAFT SERVER WE WILL

I remember the big influx of mimics, sparkling bosses and chat colours. I learned to rocket jump on VSH, I learned to backstab on VSH, and I learned to play pyro such that I could barely survive last stand. I learned not to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (through many screwups on my part), and I learned a lot about being kind.

I haven't played TF2 or been on steam in a long time, but even now after so many years I still remember very fondly the times I had on OzFur VSH. Thank you all for everything, and for all this community is, and used to be.

This server and community have a special place in my heart. I played back in 2011-2012, right up until maps such as volcanic got released. I have so so so many fond memories, including many of me being an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on both sides of VSH. Playing maps like crevice, oilrig (when I first started), nucleus, etc. Spending whole days from 8am to 12am on the server, during the holidays. Meeting so many people and spending so much time on the server, in other games such as Killing Floor and L4D2. Spending a lot of time on the forums in the Off-Topic, and participating in the art comp. Going through all the iterations of castle_siege as well as the comeback of oilrig.

This server and its community (all of y'all) where an extremely important part of my childhood and upbringing. Leon, thank you for hosting and running the most important part of my childhood, and from the bottom of my heart i love and miss the lot of you. (Winning i sware to god, I'ma out lms you one day)

@Leon You mentioned enquiring about why the community closed up? I couldnt go on for a few months and when i did i just found out ozfur went dark. Would like to hear from the head honcho himself.

Good VSH Servers made very well. all I can remember but its probably better to let the version that ozfur had die if it isn't open for others.

@Treef You forgot the part where I bathed in the blood of a 100 infants, gassed all the players, burned down the datacentre and literally cannibalised Rzar – Those were the best bits I tell you!

Jokes aside, there are pretty good reasons why we ended up closing the community when we did, and elected not to distribute the mod in light of the fact. Friends of OzFur are invited to enquire, I might even write something up.

TF2 was my first steam game and ozfur server cluster was my main home there. I enjoyed the chance to moderate the place but ended up leaving pretty quick and goin dark just because of Leon's behind-the-scenes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Would be nice to see people from years ago.

Now, I've long since expanded my roster of games and interests, found a FF2 server group (in AUS) that does provide pleanty of laughs now and then, been part of another attempt to regather parts of Ozfur (led by KingRaptor who's changed his name since) though that might be ded as well now, and I'm now also friends with one of the biggest GModders of the current wave.

It would be good to see some sembelence of Ozfur back to some extent of its former glory, but with so many of us now scattered across the interwebs, it will be a very tedious task.

Yeah, pleanty of good times back in the old days. Ozfur is pretty much where I started not just in TF2 but in Steam in general.

Times when I'd hop onto the VSH server every Friday and Saturday night, having fun gunning down hales (and playing as said hales), Mariokart being usually full (dispite being only 1 map), The occasional dip into obscurity, and is the group where I first began to be obsessed with OwlSnipers.

Might not have been around as much during the end stages due to tech issues, but got back in time to begin getting the picture. Server populations was dying down, VSH was becoming more and more about being "fair and balanced" and with major drama regarding some of the newer mods causing a devide constantly being brought up.

Good times. My most fond memories are with OzFur on 24/7 2Fort. NSFW sprays, friendly furries in the chat, comedic drama, and of course the weekly spycrab migration. I miss those times.

Classic Leon. It was fun while it lasted yet a shame how it ended. OzFur had potential to be a good group but now its just gone with the wind. The only thing officially OzFur is the forums with barely any recent activity.

If anyone has the original server files, give it a go and see if we can Revive it

For those who want a little bit of closure (if you can call it that) on how Ozfur fell apart, it isn't a nice story and when i got told this i got personally pissed off but you'll see why

Ozfur fell apart because people were asking Leon when he would update the servers to then most recent version of TF2, instead of doing that he instead decided to have a hissy-fit and then go '♥♥♥♥ it, im not doing this anymore' and left

He never passed on the torch, never gave out the VSH mod to anyone to restart a new legacy, he just left it to die, all i can think about is the donators like Dakkagob who spend alot of money into this community and its servers only for that to happen. What a joke

Thats how it ended, i was on the VSH server at the time when it died, just playing with 12 other people then suddenly got kicked out and got a message saying 'Lost connection to Server' tried to find it in my favourites tab but it wasn't there
