Before I go inviting other people here, I wanted to make a general post about what's been going on.

The Decade Server is now running on new hardware since about Febuary. I think I built it prety well, and it sure was a little more expensive than I would have liked, but everything turned out well. Along with a new router and switch, there shouldn't be any preformance issues or bottlenecks any more.

tl;dr = NO MORE LAG

For any new people, welcome to my little hobby server. Check out the website if you'd like, or enjoy Don't Starve Together, until I get other public servers up.
Do you like Minecraft and/or Terraria? Those will come soon, probobly Terraria first, since thats easyer.

I'm not the kind of person to make frequent posts about anything, but should anything need explaining, I'll throw something up here. In the mean time, play nice!

I fixed the issue with the server, and it is back up.

Minecraft did save something a couple of hours before crashing, however I don't trust it and so I restored a backup from the 12th. Almost no progress was lost, as the only person who came on was on for less than 2 hours at most.

That being said, I know that not alot of people are playing on it, and I too am taking a break from it, however it is still going to stay up for anyone that wants to play. Bring a friend, work on something big like pixel art (not a penis), a huge base, or just anything. In the end, we are all going to be sitting around in diamond armor, sucking our thumbs without anything left to do, and thats where we make our own goals.

So today we just had a mini blackout at my place, and the server didn't take to kindly to that...

The server will be down for now, and I will be putting it back up hopefully before the end of today. The Minecraft server was running while it happened, so if it didn't autosave before, I will have to revert to a backup I made a day or two ago.

This is two days late, but I still feel I should make a post about it:

Last Friday, (the 24th) the Minecraft server officially went up, and it's a super cool map. I wanted to use a seed that wouldn't spawn us in a boring jungle or swamp, so I found this seed[www.minecraftforum.net] to use for the server.

The post includes a map of the 2048 blocks surrounding spawn, and within it lies every biome. This way, if you want certain resources, or want to live in a special place, you can find it on this map. Alternatively, you can download Admist[www.minecraftforum.net] to see a larger, scaleable version.

And yes, I know, you can see the stronghold and villages and such.
Listen, lets all wait to fight the bosses until we have more people on, so that we can all get the acheivement.

Speaking of 'more people', Everyone that has been on thus far has witnessed some pretty serious lag on the server. The more people that are on in diffent locations = the more chunks have to be loaded at one time = more active things in each chunk = lag. As of now, all I have to work with is garbage collector flags. When Spigot is released for 1.8 (basically OptiFine for servers), I can upgrade to that and we will see how that goes. In the mean time, all I can say is if you wanna get some serious work done, play when there are < 5 people on at one time, because it seems it can handle 4 people at once pretty good.

I also just wanna put this out there, if you guys want to invite people to play with, that is totally ok, just point them to the website[decade-server.dtdns.net] for the info, and don't grief. The only people not allowed are the people no one knows, like if a stranger came online. If anyone does something sneaky just let me know.

Anyways, hope everyone enjoys their time. The server will be up as long as it can, with it being down only to tweak it a bit more. Dispite the lag, I will continue trying to improve what I can. :)

So since everyone doesn't really mind waiting, we're going to wait until Optifine 1.8 comes out, after Comic Con, and on a weekend. Once a date like that rolls around, I will notify you all again.

However, as a present, I was working on the website all last night getting everything working. It should be up by the time you read this, so I suggest you take a look. 80% of the time went into the Server Status page, but there are still some minor bugs with it:

* Rapidly clicking refresh on the Server Status page refresh button has a very, very slim chance of showing servers as up when they are actually down.
* Clicking refresh on the Server Status page, navigating to another page, going back to the Server Status page, and clicking refresh again, all within the timeout, will show all the servers as up even if they are down.

I know maybe it doesn't look like much on the site, but like I said, alot of work went into the refreshing status'. I'd love to hear any comments.
