I wish this was available at half price for Autism patients.
I'll come back in one month to tell about my experience meditating every day.
A big hug to everyone.
In my first 40 min session today, I had 133 thoughts. Towards the end of the session, impatience was quite prevalent, eg. "god when is this going to end," "surely, I must be nearly done now" etc.
I never used to experience such thoughts in meditation, and I used to meditate for longer than this in the past. I really don't know when or how my mind and thoughts became so jumbled racing away with themselves!?
This "game" (and I use that term loosely) has really helped me to understand this aspect of myself and it is my hope that with this understanding and daily meditative practice, I will calm myself more. Also, of course, meditation makes me feel wonderful. I really appreciate the games inbuilt encouragements to come back daily.
A number of people I work with want it, but they're on Mac only. This is a great app.
Sit in a comfortable position, and allow the mind to wander wherever it want to,if you try to NOT think to much, then you will be guaranteed to think even more, but if you focus on the breath, eventually you will notice that one thing is all the strange things spinning around in our minds, and another thing is you observing it.
3 minutes will barely make you start meditating, and I doubt you will gain much from this short time, other then finishing just when you might be starting. So at least try 10 minutes.
I'm really thankful for this project, and how it gives rewards to the continuation of the "game", since it also have a remind-function and I'm eager to see what happen when I continue tomorrow.
It would be neat if we could change the fox into different animals, possibly anyway. Sort of a sirit animal kinda thing. lol ^^;
Thanks for making this!
Did anyone else feel a sense of growing impatience and/or boredom to the point that you're more actively thinking "when is this going to be over?" Thoughts or worries about how you're breathing or should you be thinking about anything specific? I'm not putting the game down, I just think maybe the newness of this whole experience and the sense of skepticism I still have toward the benefits of meditation are still bouncing around in my head. Clearly there's a lot going on up there if I can't just let it go and be in the moment.
I really enjoy and highly recommend this "game".
Maybe someday there will be a german translation.
@wowey that's wonderful :) A VR version of Playne is in the plan :)
could this be the inspiration for Wolf?
Thanks for the link and info! Will give it a try.
Breath awareness is the foundation, but its the observation of thought which is the structural part of the meditation in Playne. Its a contemporary version of an ancient method called 'Self-Enquiry'. Playne offers the first step, and as your practise continues and deeps, you'll see the many layers of the practise.
This is an effective way to get you aware/mindful.
