We are on the verge of a VERY GOOD time period, beginning from the last week of the January. The last time same signs emerged, French Revolution happened and Industrialization began. From 2008 to 2025, we were at the height of the Totalitarian energies but beginning from the last week of January, Freedom energies will start to thrive. This revolutionarist energy will continue until 2042.

I wrote these phenomenons here because i regard this place worthy of giving Glad Tidings.

@TwisterCat: Scurrybt got his account back. He also sent me a warning message to not click on the messages sent by that hacker once he reclaimed his own account. I had several other friends suffering same thing since 2016, so i was prepared for such an incident. Thank God he is back with us. And thank you for warning us, his friends, from here.

Huh, seems like Scurry got hacked. Sent one of those phishing links, one of the lesser convincing ones at that. Kind of a shame, he was everywhere on OT, but just a heads up for those who've got him added.

@TwisterCat: Apart from the few like you and the members of this group, people (there) are lost cases or brag about themselves clandestinely via sarcasm, or not caring about anything in life including respecting any phenomenon. However, most have one common thing, they (i don't know why) post sarcastic messages in most cases and insuniating their "high level" intellect behind those "jokes". As if "i am a wiser being than you can think because i don't care about anything" type of bragging. So, you will not lose any nobility by dodging Off-Topic.

What I initially thought happened was some sort of dispute over their conduct, a breach of privacy, something along those lines, but Ferret's probably right in saying this is a legal matter, so I won't entertain any of my guesses having heard that. It definitely was sudden though, and some of the volunteer mods did sound really pissed on their goodbye thread.

We'll just have to wait and see, really. I think it's more than likely they'll throw in some new paid mods, and the forum will be just as boring as before.

Hit and miss. The moderating has been polarised, from what I've seen. One minute a harmless thread is locked, and the next there's threads about absolutely everything being allowed.

I'm not sure what to make of it, honestly. The support moderators have been banning everything on other forums, but off-topic seems to be a haven from that. Maybe they're still hiring paid mods?

@Mona Lizzard: Heck yeah! And also those mods "don't tell the whole story" about behind the scenes communication about other group of mods. Of course, they want to show that "we were not the ones who were giving ridiculous bans" but they say NOTHING about hypocritical one-way moderating of posts regarding political & religious discussions. A few months ago, a profile who was posting several "Kremlin approved" posts backing their invasion didn't face any bans nor post deletion whereas my and TwisterCat's posts supporting Ukraine people were deleted quickly. The even worse thing is, whenever a thread is filled with posts blaming USA there is no lock, but when i come into those particular threads and begin to write the things Eurasianists don't want to hear about US, those threads were being locked quickly. There was a HUGE amount of hypocrites inside those volunteers and some of them still continued to post as if "nothing bad happened" in that Goodbye thread.

That previous volunteer mod Killah Instinct I saw said it was okay to bait other users on people's profiles since you won't get punished for it. That's messed up. Glad the volunteer mods are no more.

Valve should get rid of all the previous community bans as a gesture of good faith and as a reassurance that the new team will treat everyone seriously and without any bias.

I had something to say, but I think I'll give it a few weeks. What I will say is that I think I have enough reason to suspect some sort of incident happened. Things seem to point to this being a rather sudden decision.

The mod who has been banning me and removing my posts in Off-Topic is now removed from his position. Thank God!

Turns out that they're replacing the volunteer moderators with paid ones—I feel somewhat sceptical with how this is going to turn out. I've got a feeling that they're going to want to fulfil quotas and be even less lenient than the Steam Jannies.

To be completely upfront, I quite dread this decision. My history with the Steam Support moderators has been hostile at best, whereas the volunteers never gave me too much flak.

At least I could ask the volunteer moderators questions from time-to-time, the support moderators are very secretive, and they all say the exact same damn thing when locking a thread.

The support moderators always take the nuclear approach. Removed posts, moved to another section of the forums, bans and all! It's never just a simple lock, it's always a very complex one.

We shall see, I suppose. I try not to celebrate too early, you never know what will takes it's place.

If you mean the Valve boot lickers that plagued the forums, then yes. I swear there was mod manipulation at play when you see the amount of people engaging in political and religious arguments ALL THE DAMN TIME and not getting banned or just getting a small slap on the wrist with a warning or more.

It seems the "tyranny" of OT, at least in theory, has come to an end.

I noticed that a good while ago, Nooby, and the most ironic thing about it was how I discovered it on the Steam Store, from a post on the forums, which was later removed. I can understand NSFW discussions, to a degree, but the rules on discussions are completely outdated.

It's starting to feel like half the time somebody brings up the rules on a forum, it turns into a discussion about double-standards. Perhaps that's for the better, I'm not sure if I'd want a "new" set of a rules, but what we have now makes no sense.

Well, RetroArch is a frontend to a collection of emulators, and as far as I can tell, there's no reference to obtaining copyrighted files. After all, emulators themselves are not illegal. It seems that only discussing the usage of such... might be...? Perhaps only if it involves piracy, but then again, some legitimate game releases technically come with emulators.

General Steam forums have no age restriction and are moderated as such. That much I can understand.

To add to what Nooby said about the hypocrisy:

I think you have to look at Steam like the old video stores that had the "adult section" behind the curtain. They gladly make money off of smut, but they don't want to cause a moral panic when little Timmy tells his mommy about the forums featuring Hentai games. They don't want the so-called Karens to get involved.

As talking of being fair, i want to add that i am pretty impressed with the moderators in Fallout76 forums in Steam. If those were the ones moderating Off-Topic, we wouldn't have to build this group. Now, i discerned that it is some "Eurasianist" minded moderators there which can not stand any truth being said for PRC and Russia but perfectly fine with criticisms for Steam, Facebook, Twitter, USA, NATO and other European countries. As an additional note, they are also very strict against any critism against dictatorial measures like mandatory covid vaccines, so these bring us into a possible destination: at least one moderator there is an agent of Rothschild family that Valve isn't aware of. That's why my posts began to get deleted there once i started to talk about Rothschild & PRC Alliance.
