I was thinking maybe there should be some landmark feature, since you're wandering around in a wood it should help a lot to have somethings to go by.

So what's happening, could do with some updates here. If you've given up just say so we know what's what. If you had anymore ideas then post them as well, i'll be sitting in chat if anyone has anything to add.

We need to make some schedule when we are going to have team chats. This is crucial for making this work.

@Dulalalaa It's like the forest version of Pyramid Head thus i like it.
Shenrix 31 May, 2010 @ 12:25pm

Random boss situation that i would have liked to see.

Someone the MC knows is found in the woods confused. The MC teams up with the person and walks around the forest doing w/e. Suddenly darkness and spirits start doing there thing and the person gets possessed. The MC has the option of damaging the possessed body till the spirit can no longer use it or wasting camera film in the hopes of trapping the spirit on film. If the MC took the fighting option a scene would occur with the friend of the MC bloody, hurt confused and dying, if the trapping approach was used then the friend of the MC either continues to stick around or dies peacefully beside the MC.

I guess the possessed body would have increased speed, strength, endurance and probably mumble creepy ♥♥♥♥.
(Also mandatory "in the house in a heartbeat" playing during boss battle lol)

Actually the camera wasn't my idea. I was making sure it was remembered just in case. After I thought about it you can't light much with a modern digial camera. You would have to have it turned backwards and the LED screen would light things just well enough to see a few feet in front of you. Every once and a while you could take a picture like this and hopefully get a picture of something stalking you from behind. Also the camera could go off at random times and kinda blind you whilst also warning you of a threat from behind.

Try making a game design document which describes the game entirely. You can find templates for a GDD online. When you have the game concept on paper, people will have a more clear understanding of the game concept and it will be easier to discuss about the game while avoiding confusion.

Certain storyline features could do with being fleshed out; The guy is a photographer, that's fine and I guess that would make camera work one of the key features of gameplay, would there be combat features or would it be mostly a stealthy game; stalking your prey, maybe trapping them, taking a picture etc. et
etc.
Hankle 31 May, 2010 @ 11:08am
i like ReikGT's idea, also try not to make any parts like pitch black or too dark
Peepo 31 May, 2010 @ 11:01am
Well if the camera is set in stone, it woulbe be a good idea to have the camera light be the only manipulable light source in the game.
Hankle 31 May, 2010 @ 10:59am
kk, i think that the fog idea is pretty good and gives it a more ominous atmosphere. snow would be kinda creepy too but a mixture of the two would be awesome. it would give the game a more isolated feeling imo
From the get go I have been very interested in having the PC be a photographer of some kind, so I'd set that in stone.
Hankle 31 May, 2010 @ 10:47am
besides the forest part, is there anything set in concrete?
Peepo 31 May, 2010 @ 10:45am
I think the problem with the steam group is that it's just easier to post in the thread at the moment.
It's so up in the air right now I'd appreciate any thing anyone wanted to contribute
Hankle 31 May, 2010 @ 10:36am
you think i could do monster design?
Big_Boss 31 May, 2010 @ 10:32am
We're rising pretty fast.
