I figured it would be nice to at least have some sort of chat channel up. I just registered ##cornellirc on freenode.net, so we now have an IRC (which is not officially affiliated with the hub). This will be useful as a communication medium while the hub is down (both now and, if it comes back up, whenever it goes down in the future), and it should also hopefully attract a larger community.

I intend to try and advertise this in other places, though the only place that comes to mind right now is the cornell subreddit. So, once again, the channel is ##cornellirc and it's on freenode.net.
