Another Server change!

Because our old servers had awful routing to Norway, Sweden and sometimes other countries I decided to switch.

The switch is a bit sudden, I'll admit, but I'll assure you the new server wil be much better than the old one. I'll have everything essential up today by PCW time.

I've already migrated the mumble server, you shouldn't see any difference on the server itself, all the rooms, descriptions and registrations are the same as on the old server!

I will transwer the STVs, logs and other files to the server during the night and tomorrow, so don't panic if you don't see your logs or STVs on FTP.

Keep in mind if you saved the servers with the con-gaming.net domain you will not need to update any connect strings. If you have not I suggest you do that now.

Should we change Dedicated Servers?

Recently I found a Dedicated Server with slightly better specs than we have now for a slightly better price. And with me running out of money a cheaper server sounds pretty good.

Pros:
+ Cheaper server with ~same preformance
+ Cleaning up the mess on our current server
+ Possibly new usefull features (uploading maps to servers, finally finishing the website...)

Cons:
- Different IP
- Some lost settings and files
- Possibly different location (still Germany afaik) therefore possibly questionable routing and connection quality

More info:
Option 1: Different server provider, 14€/month cheaper, about the same specs, 1TB more HDD space, CreditCard only
Option 2: Different provider, 4€/month cheaper, better specs, 8GB RAM more, 1TB more HDD space, CreditCard only
Option 3: Same provider, 4€/month cheaper, sbetter specs, 500GB HDD space less, CreditCard or PayPal

Basically more ram = more servers and/or better server performance; more HDD space = more space for FTP uploads and more servers; less money = better for my wallet.

Just want to hear some opinions from you guys. If I decide to change servers we'd have both server for about a week or two so I can transfer stuff we absolutely need and so everyone can get used to the new ip and everything. Also incase the routing for the new server is completely crap I'm pretty sure I can cancel it.

PS: I could always get us a new short domain to replace the ip (continuity-gaming.net is kinda long...) so you guys wouldn't need to remember it because apparently I'm the only person who memorized it. If you have any suggestions for it (continuity.net is already taken) don't hesitate to say so.

Mumble and server stuff breaking

Some of you might have noticed that mumble server kept crashing a lot lately. Some other things might have been affected too.

I've indentified the problem and am fixing it now, everything should be working properly again within the hour.

Also adding some new features at the same time.

Will try to get it back and operational today. No promises. No idea how long it takes to reinstall.

What does that mean for the mean time? No mumble or TF2 servers. And everything that was uploaded to the FTP is/will be gone if I need to reinstall so if you want something from there better get it now

New Server!

Yep, got a new server, hosted by multiplay. The new server ip:

188.138.56.33:27815

Server password is still the same. However now we have SM instlled on it already so I might as well leave it on.

There's also more bonus stuff but I cba to write everything here now :D

This however means we'll need to get someone to take his spot. I have some people in mind, talked to one of them. We'll be trialing on friday.

We need to discuss some matters regarding the team. We'll be using mumble unless my internet makes it impossible to use voicechat again. Then we'll use the continuity steam group chat.
