Yo, i use to religiously play AvP on mplayer.com’s program. I have trouble describing it, but i would
launch games through a program downloaded called “Mplayer.” Guess it was short for multiplayer. Of course it no linger exists. It was so long ago, late 90’s.

Was also in a clan called Clan of Controlled Chaos, which is how i ended uo here haha. Anyone else from the same realm?

Still alive! I've been playing a first person shooter for a little bit and going back and forth between Path of Exile and Fortnite when I can't stand myself.

Not sure most of the guys keep tabs on our Steam page, but if you posted on FB Group page....you'd get some more responses - I'm in the middile of taking care of a new born and moving/retiring from the military....so I'll not be on as much during the summer months

I am back, for most of the summer as well! It would be awesome to get together with everyone and catch up sometime! Game wise, will be tackling new content in FFXIV over the summer. I'm open to any FPS suggestions, despite my lack of dexterity with a mouse and keyboard these days.

Frank, that screenshot I posted from Wayback machine was from I believe late 2000 so you may have been underwater by that point. The SSBN deterrent patrols didn't help either. Two years of my life were underwater in a submarine at the time. I was looking at the date and probably hating life in 2001, especially in September...

I was ranked number 1 in the AvP Gold Ranked lobby for several months while becoming an MPlayer.com Wizard and eventually got lost to MMORPGs like Asheron's Call. I was actively setting up AvP KOTHs as a Wizard-TheFrank while I was ranked #1 as TheFrank-CCC, lol.

People would examine the ladder and constantly send challenges if I was online. Since it was based on the Elo rating system, their win would usually net them +32 points if the difference in rating was extreme (my rating would take a -32 hit if I'd lost, and possibly +1 if I'd won). I'd see tons of experienced players using newly made smurf accounts with the 1400 initial rating; I'd get challenges from them constantly when I popped into the lobby.

My rating was high enough that it caused the max 715 point difference against those smurfs, granting me the 16 point handicap by deafult. A loss (-16) added to the handicap (-16) would cause a 32 point drop in my rating if I'd lost to them.

I wised up and would only usually take games from the names I'd recognized (or that didn't have the stock 1400 icon). They're closer to even with me so a win/loss would keep it to +/-16 points instead of +1/-32.

I see UNKNOWN-PAIN up there and I'd always remembered him playing as Alien, this might have been well after I was lost to Asheron's Call, lol.

I wasn't kidding about the perma green-screen nightvision either. That's the first thing I popped on and kept on when I played as Marine. I didn't need the beeping covering the sound of Pred medkit screams or tailsnaps. I could hear when people did pick-ups and knew where they were when I heard it based on my memory of the level's pick-ups.

I played tons as marine as well (I'd keep it on perma night vision and disregard the radar; I was eventually just going to blow all of the lights out anyway...).

I have been playing Battlefield for awhile then I moved to Iracing and spent a lot of money trying to be as completive as I could.

Lol, sounds like airdrops could get salty., should I grab a copy and wait for finished product? or is it fun in it's current state? most of the streams I've seen are decent, but most the zombies were very buggy, not chasing or attacking. I've been looking around and a lot are waiting for finished product so they don't get burned out.

I already have it - it shows promise but still in need of some major upgrades - had it day one and the biggest gripe was pay to win air drops...they have since adjusted that...and now you are at YOUR OWN RISK when you call in an air drop...especially on a PVP server....good luck trying to get the loot you just paid for and now free for anyone to grab.

Anyone else picking up H1Z1? going to grab copy in couple weeks, was going to wait until zombies worked better in the game. been looking forward to a zombie survival, tried Dayz for a bit, but it's going to be another 5 years before that dream comes true lol. if you plan on it, or have it, send friend invite if I don't have you already. I finally picked up copy of BF4 for PC, if any of you all want to play, find me as whiplashccc I haven't started the multiplayer yet as i'm just about to sit down and run through campaign and get controls set, my origin account is whiplashccc as well (not sure if origin and battlelog share same)
