so let me break this down for you(in case you can't access the pages do to load on steam):

they do daily deals - these are the best deals with most % off, usually 50-85% if any titles show up that you want this is the time to bite...usually somewhere near the end they do an encore of the most popular ones(but there is no guarantees)

then they do complete packs and publisher deals - these are pretty good, but I recommend only jumping on those once the last daily deal has been revealed, as some of those titles might come up in a daily with a better price cut.

then last but not least they have the daily challenges - each day there will be a set of challenges linked to various games(and usually one related to a steam feature) in order to complete these you will have to do a challenge/achievement in the specified game. upon completion you will get a present that you can open and you will either receive a gift or a lump of coal.

coal gets you "nothing"...seven pieces can be crafted into a gift or you can save them up for entries into the grand-prize prize drawing.

in order to be eligible for the prize drawing you must have 10 games in your wish list you get one entry for each lump of coal in your inventory come Jan 2nd.

grand prize: every single game on steam(1 winner)

first prize: top 10 games in your wish list(50 winners)

second prize: top 5 games in your wish list(100 winners)

third prize: Valve complete pack(1000 winners)

gifts and coal can be traded!

a new wishlist give away has started on steam.

each day 10 people will be gifted their top 10 games on their wishlist.
in order to enter you must have at least 10 games on your wishlist and visit the store page of the daily specials.
