Yes any one can change difficulty : at select map at bottom before you change the map there is select game type : hard , suicidal , hell on earth

Yes the zeds can be increased change the difficulty from hard to suicidal to hell on earth

Can the zeds be increased for a single player? If it is going to lessen the amount of zeds I don't want them turned off. I will just continue to have them hold position.

The Bots , we can turn them off , one player and 2 bots how it is set up now you fight 71 zeds at the start ,with the bots turned off one player fights 48 zeds , the more players the more bots ! so lets see what the community would like !
