Well I visited the server, checked the rules, and yes, it's under spam. Although I haven't heard the abbreviation "amp" to amputator before, may as well just write the weapon name down since it's not that long, and specify that it's the "amputator taunt" or something.

But, I must ask. Why is it an issue? Can the server crash if the amputator taunt is used too often?

Hmm, I see. I'll check the submenus to see if it's written out in regards to the Amputator the next time I connect to the server and I'll let you know whether is there or not.

I don't have an issue with the rule itself, just that I was unaware it was a thing. I appreciate the ban removal, although it was just for an hour.

Technically under spam, there are submenus in the rules.

I'm resolving this issue by adding a small cooldown timer after the amputator's taunt, like 10 seconds.

It's been an ongoing issue for a long time. Also, no one told me about your class ban... I removed it for ya.

Hi, legit question, there are nothing on the Rules in regards to (mostly) using the Amputator taunt as a Medic, although long ago I was "slapped" by using it (on ctf_2fort), and recently banned from using the Medic for an hour (on cp_degrootkeep). Keep in mind that I play with text chat and voice chat off, so I can't read any chat messages if people were saying anything.

You can help your team by buying damage resistances while healing, as well more Health Regen. I can see a point where using the Amputator can grant you a lot of credits, but either way, constant healing others instead of Ubering or Projectile Shield can be a viable strategy with resistances, and I don't see any issue if there are other Medics on the field.

I am sure there would be other ways to farm credits via assists, such as Jarate and Mad Milk, or Soldier's banners for that matter.

And, I wasn't AFK either, I was still spending on credits for resistances, health regen, and some upgrades to the crossbow and such.

Regardless, even if it was an "admin" message sent to all players in the middle of the screen, this still isn't a set-in-stone rule, and I feel like it would probably be better if this was written out. As mentioned, I play with chat off, so there's 0 way for me to know if I'm actually infringing anything. I love this server, but I believe any infringing action should be written out on the Rules if the server is against any sort of playstyle, in that case, mostly utilizing Medic's amputator taunt. Thanks.

Hey Dynamilk, thanks for updating some of the stuff I have pointed out, such as higher difficulty settings as well your promise in robots having Uber textures when they are, well, invulnerable.

I would like to ask if you guys have any plans to remove the teammate pushback, as stated in some of my suggested comments. It's quite annoying having teammates push you around when you are trying to aim towards the horse of buildings and engies, and considering that people often group up in the same spot in this gamemode, this is a big deal.

Uncletopia's version removes the pushback and it's honestly a match made in heaven. Still, thanks for all your work on this wonderful gamemode.

All good, thanks for addressing it. The Uncletopia version is kinda fun, but the lack of difficulty options there (and the lack of third person view command) is unfortunate. So I still believe Bangerz is the better choice overall, not to mention it has a huge map variety.

This has happened before with the difficulty system a few years ago. People adapted to it, I had to keep buffing it. It was fine until the RTU system, which now, is due for another buffing.

Right now, there are some maps that benefit the current XTREME settings with RTU on, like cp_5gorge, pl_pier, and pl_upward, whilst other maps, like you mentioned, are easier, as people are now adapting (or adapted) to the RTU system.

Anyways, enough long talk, the point is: I'll buff up the difficulties soon, that's no problem on my end. Feel free to play on Uncletopia's variant in the meantime, as half its code is Bangerz code. There is a 1ku server that does have MVM upgrades, similar style to what we have, but with some quirks on some maps, as they use their own "stripper configs."

The current difficulty settings were never set to have an upgrade system in mind, as it was never an idea to have back then. Others have complained about it before, you're not the only one. It will be buffed next month.

We used to have it so that players had to vote in the RTU system, regardless of count, but due to the overwhelming desire of it, I made it automatic if it was more than 16 players. I think that now I increased the slots to 32, I could bump it up to like 21-24 players required. I'll think on that as time goes on.

90% of the maps made in the TF2 community never had the idea of having an upgrade system (obviously). That's the problem in its entirety. Because one map (cp_freaky_fair) was made for an upgrade system, while the others (MVM) revolves around it, all the other maps are easier to beat on Engineer Fortress, or if it were on a vanilla mode, EASY to beat (intensifying the easy part...)

Design-wise, Freaky Fair worked perfectly with the Upgrades System due to having specific upgrades removed for PvP combat, as well its compact and narrow layout. Getting to the last point was a challenge due to most entrances being narrow. The only open area was the middle one, which was a lot of fun since you could rack up credits to get ready for the last point.

Upgrades on open maps, while fun in theory (like Waffle House), doesn't seem to suit the Upgrade Station system too much. I still believe all of this could be resolved with harder difficulty when this mechanic is enabled.

I have also been playing the Uncletopia variant of this gamemode, and over there, there doesn't seem to be a lengthy invulnerable spawn timer for the Robot Engies. The lack of Upgrades, and having the ability to destroy them right after they leave spawn is a lot of fun. Matches take longer, but it feels very rewarding once you finally cap that last point. There is also no time limit.

I will be honest, since the inclusion of the Upgrades System, I haven't been having that much fun than I used to before, which is weird, since I always thought that Freaky Fair was a very fun map due to its Upgrade System. I believe the biggest issue has to be how quick the matches are getting due to players getting eventually stronger therefore being easier to wipe the buildings and engies.

I believe the difficulty system needs to adapt if the Upgrade Station is enabled. Every difficult should be a little harder due to it, and X-TREME needs to be a lot more difficult, as it's mostly a cake-walk after a few minutes in. I'm also not sure if the Upgrade Station should enable by itself depending on player count, even though most people would vote anyway. I always thought that a separate server with Upgrades would be the best solution, but that may split up the playerbase.

Any ideas why I crash to desktop with the new MVM mode on the server? Usually happens at the final cap, so maybe too many bots?

Sparkly, the MVM Upgrade Station is new here. Things will get buffed out as time goes on, so it won't be a chaotic experience later on.

Would it possible to fix certain weapons not working when "Add even more bots" are enabled (e.g. cosmetics are disabled)? Certain weapons like Cozy Camper, Gunboats, Mantreads, Ali Baba Wee Booties (and Bootlegger), and Darwin's Danger Shield does not work, at all, the stats are not applied to the player.

Weapons like Buff Banner, Battallion's Backup and Concheror does work, and despite that they are another entity taking space, the same cannot be said to some other weapons like the two Sniper ones. I'm not sure if the entity limit should be as aggressive, as there was (or is?) a bug where if a map is extended with the Even More Bots enabled, cosmetics are returned and I rarely got a server crash.

So I think these few other weapons, which has an entity in the form of a player attachment, could be properly enabled.

Have no idea what can be wrong, unless whatever is map host blocks my connection (because im from russia). So i dont know. It does connect me to that IP, except it doesnt play gif. Cant try vpn because every server now has that vpn protection or whatever it is. Rip.

We do have a map downloading server. Make sure you're allowing downloads in your settings. Console commands: cl_allowdownload 1 & cl_downloadfilter all

I see. Also, I was wondering if the server could implement disabling "Teammate Collision Pushaway". Looks like the server command for it is:
sm_cvar tf_avoidteammates 0
or maybe it's
sm_cvar tf_avoidteammates_pushaway 0 (it's set to 1 right now)

I think it's more than common when you are on specific position, and some teammate just pushes you and both of you die. Now, this might be part of the gamemode, however.

yeah, that's right. there are some maps that VERY close to the entity limit, so I had no choice but to remove the action items as well as the cosmetics. if I did allow action items on those maps, the server would crash.

when valve increases the entity limit sometime in the future, if they ever do so, this won't be an issue.

The "Add even more bots" command removes Action Items alongside Cosmetic Items. Removing Action Items means it's impossible to use Potions on Freaky Fair, and I'd assume maps with spells will make them unobtainable.

There's seems to be some bugs related to when a map gets extended (commonly happens on Freaky Fair):
- If "Add even more bots" was voted during the first round, and succeed, the cosmetics come back after the map is extended, despite all the bots still being there;
- If a different difficult is set other than Normal during the first round, it seems the difficulty name stays, but it goes back to Normal (or a hybrid of sorts) when map gets extended. For instance, I was in a Super Easy match on Freaky Fair, and once the map extended, my health was no longer +1000 HP, but I was getting killed quickly (probably Normal mode damage), as well respawning at the same rate as Super Easy.

Waffle House is unbeatable, the medieval mode time on Point C is way too short as not even half the team as Scouts standing on it is enough to cap it.
