There is a reason behind that idea. The creators of the site want it so that people who have experience with trading and who are understand the system can vote while the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ morons that sell keys at 5 ref and lose profit cannot vote.

You do realize that there are over 2+ million people that play tf2? So with the drop system giving around 9 weapons per week, that is over 16-19 million items per week. Melted down into ref, that would be the lowest amount is 888,888 - 1,055,555 ref per week. How much are keys increasing each week? Well, in 2 weeks, keys went up by 27,420. So yeah, people are not buying as fast as metal is being made.

The community CREATES the prices, but the ADMINS pick what suggestions they like. Ironnicaly you need a certain amount of keys to vote for key prices. No corruption there.

Ref inflation is poorly thought out, poorly researched idea to excuse the real issue. It doesnt make sense why ref would go up, because as new players join and old players want keys, more keys are bought. It balances out the ref-key ratio. Ive compared the amount of ref in the past to keys in the past and the rate has stayed for the most part. It makes zero sense why the amount of Ref would skyrocket.

Heres the this the price of keys in realation to ref is correct however the wrong thing is the price of ref, why is it going down? The price of ref cannot go below $0.18 because 1 wep= $0.01 so1 scrap -$0.02 so 1 rec = $0.06 so 1 ref= $0.18

its only a matter of time Canno, all it takes is for keys to be unbalalnced and it screws up the whole economy. Unusuals, buds, stanges, ref; its all affected. Hopefully it will get too expensive for people to afford and the price will drop. However the drop may be so radical that the prices will be even more screwed up. Some things over priced, some under priced, there will be much chaos. Backpack.tf will not be able to update prices fast enough. The point of this group is to get as many people devoted to lowering the price as possible, even though there arent many of us now, I hope we could get more.

Keys are now 12 ref. I'm safe to say that economy is now broken. Because keys are so expensive buds went down price too. Their current price is 14 keys, instead 28 keys like they use to be in ole' good times when keys were 2.66. That broke unusual trading as well.

Too late, the crash is coming, and soon. The faster it rises the faster it falls. Keys went back up at an alarming rate. I wouldn't want to own any pure right now. So if you have em, use em before the price hits 10 ref. May sound distant and obscure, but trust me, it will be here before you know it.

This may have happened because 206K keys were added I guess from the new update. Severely dropping keys, but they key numbers are still rising. Not until the number decreases will keys go back up. No that key prices are dopping, people won't buy any more. By this point keys will always be ~7 refined with bumps and drops. Let's hope so... if keys stay stable, there won't be any worry about a crash...

Well, keys just dropped severely now. Most sell for 7.33-7.66... But they are dropping fater then they rised. This may be a problem... Oh !

New players dont buy keys. Key consumers is true however when they "consume" that key from unboxing a large majority of them get metal in return (hats) if anything that increases the amount of metal and shortening the supply of keys even more... Events make people unbox in the hopes of some new unusual effect so it doesnt inject many keys into the economy at all...

@moro, but why is refined going down. Well some reasons would be more hours of gameplay, and more players. Many people are saying with the increase in players, and constant playing, there is more refined. However people fail to realize, that with new events and new players comes more key consumers and a rise in key purchase. They should be parallel, not always entirely, as it will flux with a surge of new players (towards the ref side) or with a new event (towards the key side), however the key to ref ratio usually stays stable, as there is no reason for it not. My key-loop theory explains that key marketers like at backpack manipulate the demand for keys in a way to constantly raise the price. Not to mention some idiot brought up the "ref is dropping" theory.

Look, this isn't keys going up, keys will never go up, this is refined going down, and if you want to improve prices, don't have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cult for it, instead, sell and buy keys for 2.11 each, or whatever price you want.
