Actually, the StG-44 uses a tilting bolt mechanism and the charging handle is on the left side, while the AK uses a rotating bolt mechanism and has its charging handle on the right (which is indeed a bit uncomfortable, I know).

Сборка и разборка. в жизни пригодится, рано или поздно
-отделение магазина и проверка отсутствия патрона в патроннике;
-извлечение пенала с принадлежностью (у АК — из приклада, у АКС — из кармана сумки для -магазинов);
-отделение шомпола;
-отделение крышки ствольной коробки;
-извлечение возвратного механизма;
-отделение затворной рамы с затвором;
-отделение затвора от затворной рамы;
-отделение газовой трубки со ствольной накладкой
