It appears Tiny's Steam account has been stolen. DO NOT click on the link that is being spammed in PMs from them or you too will lose your account. If you've been sent a message by Tiny then please report the account as compromised. You can do this by going to the profile. Clicking the drop down arrow and select the following options:

Report Player > They are involved in theft, scamming, fraud or other malicious activity > Their account seems to have been compromised > Submit this account for review

...and write that the account is sending dodgy links and has been reported by the owner as stolen.

Hopefully she'll get it back but please for the love of god if you receive an unsolicited link from someone you're advised to ignore it and report the account.

You should also make sure to enable 2 Factor Authentication on your account if you can. It prevents exactly this scenario from happening.

How do you mean? The server should be accessible with the IPs as always zi.zombieislands.com:27015 / rampage.zombieislands.com:27015 . Gametracker generally seems to be broken these days so pretty much every server seems to be "Unnamed".

Just a heads up. I am aware of a problem with the !votekick function on the Z! Server which has occured following a Sourcemod Upgrade. I’m currently asking a developer for some assistance as this is a problem outside my scope of expertise. Updates to follow in the coming days. Thanks for your patience.

There was a technical problem with the Rampage server yesterday. The server wasn't connecting to the database that holds the Admin and VIPs. But that has since been fixed.

If this happens again then feel free to send me a message on Steam as the cause is 99.99% likely a technical failure rather than us removing someone's VIP.

it seems like i lost my donation status? I couldn't use the slot res, and when i checked in the server i had the donation message, is this a bug or did my status get straight up revoked

I re-enabled them this morning. If client side mods still aren't working despite the change then the servers need to be restarted which will happen on the daily restart.

They will be re-enabled on Monday.6th February 2023.

Sorry I missed this. It needed to be tested before we deployed it to all servers as we'd had problems with it previously

The Level 7 protection can break the server listing, which we experienced a few days ago when I did further tests. Something in the ISP filters blocks the listing in the server browser. I'm still working on a solution for that at the moment.

Rampage does have normal DDoS protection from the ISP. However as we've seen it's far from perfect. But we'd have that problem no matter which ISP we use. So no easy solution here.

Just to answer a comment on the public group. The Level 7 DDoS Protection has NOT been added to Rampage. It was added to Z! only. Please refrain from discussing matters surrounding the DDoS attacks on the public group as that may encourage the attacker to continue. Especially if they know the attacks are having the desired effect...

In an effort to help with the constant DDoS attacks. I've just migrated the server to a new machine with the ISPs best Anti DDoS offering which includes the OSI Level 7 Protection I mentioned in an earlier comment (GAME Anti DDoS).

When we used this previously several years ago it did cause issues with server listing and picking up players hence why we stopped using it at that time. However having monitored the server over the past few hours it has picked up several players on it's own so I think the previous legacy issues may be resolved going forwards.

We can disable the L7 protection if the listing bug is still an issue with this configuration. For the moment all we can do is wait and see and monitor the server over the coming days and perhaps hope of improvements to the current DDoS situation.

It does have reasonable Anti DDoS protection. However the attacks have gotten more sophisticated and the type of attack has changed since we started getting attacked a while ago. Presumably because the person responsible realised their original attacks weren't affecting the server at all.

Now when the attack begins it takes a while for the system to properly detect and mitigate the attack. However the server seems to be crashing before that point is reached. We will have that problem no matter which ISP we use going forwards.

Moving forwards we could look at getting the ISPs OSI Level 7 protection and see if that helps. But I recall this caused problems with listing previously which is why we stopped using it. Plus that is an expensive upgrade we don't really have the budget for at the moment, especially if it doesn't work.

At the moment there is no easy solution to this problem.

Server was in the "Stopped" state for some reason... I've started it up again. Thanks for the heads up.

It shouldn’t do anymore as the TCP protocol is blocked on the OVH Firewalls. Game traffic uses UDP.

Since the update that broke HLSW and other RCON remote management tools there was no need to keep the ports open as the software was useless so we closed the TCP port on the firewall.

It used to ban you if you navigated to the server IP and port 27015 in a web browser. However for the reasons above that should no longer be the case.

Unless it's changed in the past 7 or so years be highly careful you dont accidentally put those in a search engine. I think it bans you for it!

Averaging a minimum of 3 DDoS attacks per day per server at the moment. I'll keep an eye on things and see if I can do anything that may improve the stability.

R4MPAGE still seem to have poor stability, crashed 2 times today, lagged a lot.. could be a ddos..

RAMPAGE now has a new home on a dedicated server over at: 51.81.70.20 / rampage.zombieislands.com

Hopefully this is a step in the right direction to resolving the instability issues with that server.

Looks like a DDoS. Z! Also had 2 DDoS attacks this evening. I'm currently looking into some different options for Rampage as I'm not happy with our current host at the moment and they appear to be doing very little to help us.
