ZeroMeta CSGO Team

Good job tonight everyone, we played a great run. Keep it up, We will be climbing the boards in no time. I've seen everyone improve amazingly over the last few months, let's keep improving our game in every area we feel lacking. I want to get in some extra practices in the near future to build on our weakpoints. Practice isn't fun and I don't want people to feel like it's a waste of time. Already i've seen a huge difference to our strategies after we've practiced them over and over, and I know we will only get better after a practice session, so I will work to organize more. We have alot of strengths on this team, lets keep using them. The most important thing we can do right now is to keep our heads up after a loss. Relax, shake it off, and be ready to win the next. I love playing with you guys, by far the best people i've met so far here. Looking forward to hoppin on and dominating the next time. Till then, lets all practice our game, do what you can to be the best you can be.

BulletMagnet

Message to Everyone

DOTA: This weekend I'm going to spend a good chunk of time making some videos for our teams. For the Dota team i need to be sent clips or demos of highlights for you guys (Swole if you could get these for me that would be great). Otherwise send me links on discord to the clips, or get me a whole demo file. The first video will be like the one I previously made for CSGO, introducing the players with highlights and such.

CSGO: I'm gonna start working on a clip of the week to put up next week, and i also want to start doing player specific videos. So if you have a few good matches in the upcoming days or have some from the past week or so, link me to the demo on discord and tell me the round it was in.

I need these clips from everyone by the very latest Saturday if I want to finish these by the end of the weekend, but if we can't get it to happen ill work on it more.

If you guys have any questions feel free to shoot me a message on steam or discord, and ill reply when i can.

Go ZeroMeta
-Flash
CSGO Team Spray Control Practice

Hey everyone, I want us to not only start practicing our strats for comp, but we also need to work on bettering our sprays. Whenever you guys have free time download the Recoil Master map from the workshop and start practicing our sprays. I want us all to practice with the AK, M4, and M4S , but any other weapons you normally use practice as well.

Practice Guidelines:

Do 3 sets of 10 total sprays(10 x clip size) with ghost dot on , then do 10 sprays without the dot for each gun you want to practice with.

Practice the sprays at close, medium, and long ranges (3 sets total)

The goals are to have 50% average accuracy at medium range with all 3 rifles. 30% at long range with AK and M4, 40% for M4S. Close range is up to you to decide, and decide for other weapons as well. (This is for sprays with Ghost Dot off)

Also try with the moving target equipped in the map.

The map will calculate accuracy, amount of bullets fired, etc.

Have Fun, practice doesn't have to be boring.

Happy Training
- Flash

DotA 2 Week of 12 may METAgame rundown

Hey guys, since I watch a vast majority of the pro DotA games each week, I thought I would begin to do a rundown of the heroes in the current pro meta at the end of each week. I cover each category of heroes (Carry, mid, and support) and talk about the heroes currently rising, in, and falling from the meta and why I think they are in their current state. Hopefully you all can take time to read this and it will help you in your games, as many parts of the pub meta tend to be influenced by professional DotA. I’m considering doing this meta review weekly, if you think I should and it will be beneficial to you all let me know!
-	ZM.SwolE

Carry Heroes

Rising:

Lycan – After dropping off the last few weeks Lycan seems to be making a return to the safelane, for teams like Newbee, Virtus Pro, NaVI and Liquid. Usually being picked in conjunction with a natures prophet offlane for push linups.

Legion Commander – Not sure why, as her winrate is abysmal (every game I’ve watched this week she’s lost) but legion is starting to see some time in the safelane during Epicenter. EG and Virtus Pro picked her in the group stages.

Faceless Void – Starting to be picked as a safelane carry more and more with the radiance build

Meta:

Sven – somehow still in the meta even with buffs to other heroes, Sven’s flash farming potential and the introduction of the new echo sabre has kept him firmly in the meta, favored more by north American teams

Slardar – armlet has once again made this hero a tier one pick/ban safelane carry

Spectre – Still a solid pick for a lategame team fight strat even with slight nerfs, slightly decreased popularity due to teams favoring the new pushing linups, but still firmly in the meta.

Slark – Already in the meta before the new patch, echo sabre was made for slark and he got no noticeable nerfs in 6.87c

Mirana – if her team controls the jungles, an aghanims rush gives mirana alchemist radiance like farming potential, plus moonlight shadow plus starfall is a free gank kill at level 6

Falling:

Ursa – Picked only once last week, the days of Ursa being a tier one carry in the professional meta are over. Sven does everything the hero does only better and with better late game and pushing potential.

Natures Prophet - picked only once in the safelane last week. Unless you are Navi or OG, the nerfs to natures has moved him in the professional meta from a safelane carry to an offlane ganker/pusher.

Mid Heroes

Rising:

Storm Spirit – bloodstone buffs make storm viable situationally once again. He has been picked by Complexity once, Alliance once, and EG twice this week with a 50% win rate. The new build is to rush bloodstone forgetting orchids or going back for it later. Look to see if the hero continues in popularity or fades away next week.

Death Prophet – fell out of the meta completely with OD after the new patch dropped, now returning once people have begun to realize even with the nerfs to spirit siphon, her ultimate still rips through towers like they are paper. Picked in pushing linups frequently this week,

Meta

Puck – the hero of the midlane this week, veil of discord is now standard on puck, with some players like sumail from EG rushing it before blink even. The days of core puck transitioning to utility late game are over. With veil and dagon, aggressive puck players like Sumail and Miracle are getting 15 to 20 kills a game on the hero.

Dragon Knight – rocketing into the meta this week, even with the slight nerf to armlet (-1 armor to 6 instead of 7 at activation) DK’s teamfight and pushing potential are a perfect fit for the pros.

Alchemist – forecasted by many analysts to fall off after nerfs to greevils greed affecting illusions in 6.87C, alch players have adjusted their builds accordingly (less manta style) and the hero is still as picked as it was the previous week.

Tinker – another pushing hero capable of dealing a lot of damage in teamfights benefiting from the return of bloodstone, tinker has been dominating the mid lane picks along with Puck this week

Falling

Queen of Pain – mobility tempo control mid cores are still seeing some love, but QOP and WR have been relegated to tier 2 or situational mids by some teams. Their ability to transition to right clickers late game still sees them picked a lot, but intelligence mids in general (with the exception of Puck) have been getting picked less this week in Epicenter.

Windranger – See QOP above

Offlane Heroes

Rising

Natures Prophet – Natures is still being picked a lot, but played as a position 3 pusher now usually.

Meta

Beastmaster – Picked as currently the strongest heor in the game by many analysts, the hero has been in the pro meta as long as I can remember (before TI5) and isn’t going anywhere. One of the best/longest stuns in the game, mobile vision, harass in lane, the hero does it all. Also a level 6 beastmaster with a rushed lvl 2 or 3 necronomicon can solo kill any hero in the game within the first 20 minutes.

Dark Seer – the hero has been in the meta every patch since before Ti5. The hero has been nerfed every patch since TI 5. The hero is still one of the best offlaners in the game.

Lone Druid – the offlane hard camp lets LD rush a midas and transition to the jungle quickly. The hero can be a position 1 or a position 3, but is played more offlane than safelane rightt now in the pros.

Faceless Void – has been in the meta for a while, still gets mixed results in the offlane.

Falling

Tidehunter – tide is slipping out of the meta currently, and was only picked a handful of times last week. OG still love the hero however.

Enigma – rarely picked anymore, takes way too long to come online, (generally needs mech plus blink dagger) and monopolizes the jungle.

Support Heroes

Rising

Ancient Apparition – initially picked only as an alch counter, AA is getting more playtime even when alch isn’t in game recently. Probably because armlet heroes pop from his ulti when regular damage might not do the trick.

Winter Wyvern – Wyvern is seeing a lot more use lately. Cold embrace is a good counter to armlet, and Lone druid is still in the meta so her ulti can late game still solo kill a LD that isn’t careful.

Meta

Disruptor – Disruptor and Lich seem to have replaced vengeful spirit as the go to supports of the meta, disruptors catch spells work wonders against the current flavor of the month strength safelaners.

Lich – see Disruptor

Night Stalker – the position 4 roaming night stalker has been in the meta since TI5, so don’t expect it to go anywhere soon.

Doom – Doom has been pushed down to position 4 support in the pros and is rarely played offlane or position 3 anymore, as there is better alternatives to him and the payoff of a farmed doom isn’t as great. Doom is a superb roaming/ganking position 4 that is generally 1st picked or banned. Late game, the hero might not scale as well as a support, but his ultimate still deletes a hero from the game.

Bounty Hunter – favored by North American teams, bounty is being used to accelerate the farm of carries like lifestealer, slark, and legion commander who lack flash farm mechanics and do better making gold from fighting.

Phoenix – sun ray may be the most powerfull spell in the game currently, able to turn a losing teamfight on its head completely.

Falling

Earth Spirit – Earth spirits starting speed nerf and boulder smash nerf mean that in my observation only practiced ES players are really picking him consistently anymore. He is still banned a lot verses the best players in the world: Jerax (Liquid) and Fear (EG)

Vengeful Spirit – nerfs to venge’s intel gain and starting mana pool, have seen her lose some popularity (she can now only lvl 1 stun once without a regen item when she is at level 1, making her much weaker in early/rune engagements)

Oracle – the hero was already situational and is getting snubbed even more with tanky strength safelaners in the current meta. Powerful spells but the hero is not mobile and too squishy.

CSGO Team Scheduled Practice

This Thursday, 5/12/16, The Counter-Strike teem needs to get together to run through practice scenarios and strategies. Tomorrow, we will be focusing on ZeroMeta's default CT setup for Mirage, Dust 2, and Cache, as well as taking sites on T side for those three maps. This is a crucial step to moving forward and winning games, so please message me if you feel you are unable to attend. Please be prepared to be ready around 8pm CST or later if need be.

In the future, there will be a more coordinated effort to find a night everyone is available to go over certain strategies to use during comp.

Gameplan for the Next few weeks

DotA 2 team,
If you are listed as a member or standin on the zero meta page for DotA 2. within the next 3 days, (preferably sooner than later) I need you all to PM me on discord a list of at least 5 no more than 10 heros you feel VERY comfortable playing in order of comfort/how good you are with them IN THE POSITIONS you play for the team. This is so Marti and I can start developing strats gameplans and assign you all new meta heroes to work on. Remember make your list for the position you play in the team please.

If you are serious about being on the team you need to do this within the timeline. Once i get everyones list, im going to post them all in a google doc we can all observe and edit hopefully.

Thanks all, We have some great things coming up this summer for Zero Meta!

- SwolE
