Sick of being banned by foolish admins for no reason, usually on USA servers. This last clan kicked me after I typed rtv, then banned me. So my friend goes on to ask them why and they kick and ban him also.

This kind of behaviour is pathetic and ruins the community.

Make sure you don't even acknowledge these fools in the future, I will name and shame them here:

Nearing completion on Mass Effect 2, £30 for 30 hours works out at £1 per hour. HL2DM cost me £3 and I have spent 460 hours, thats 0.65p per hour. I did not know it was free at the time.

Valve may try and suppress us communicating HL2DM is free because they make no money from it.

Ade I think the problem with leaving players is that you smell reallly bad because it doesn't happen to anyone else 3 times a day.

Fyckfaco nice one 27 players! that mod is ♥♥♥♥ though I've tried it alyx looks shagable but eveyrthing else pretty much the same. Its the same for any texture mod for any game.

You are all more than welcome to play here and invite new players to practice on the bots. If I see a player killing the bots I typicaly join to make contact. But one thing we don't like is players killing the bots for rank. We WILL reset your points.



Anyways, I'm stil extending my friendship to new players and helping the best I can.

*EctO.org i find your posts less than helpful. This place's for talking about dm, so thats what we will do. At the same time we are all making the effort to change dm outside of the steam group. I have invited 27 new players to dm, 2 of them were my own steam gifts to others, plus every game i have played i have invited players to join me. I have also reminded steam users on the steam forum that the game is free:

As for people leaving when you kick their butt, thats perfectly normal if you dont make the effort to say hi and talk to them.
If you know your gonna pwn them tell them you are good at the game, and that you have been playing for years etc. Help them want to respect your gameplay instead of scaring them off. Thats what the old community did :P

Ad3 your problem is owning them pisses them off. You should stop and
teach them. Usually They'll just hs you but at least try cos some chat back. I've been doing this lately and taught a few new people the basic like nade throwing and speedballing.

Also graphics mattering at all is nonsense, cod graphics are ♥♥♥♥♥, so is tf2, l4d/l4d2 is gawgus though.

It's a part of man's psychology - no fun without victory. At least players should have fieling that thay do have chance to get damn frag.

If guy's average lifetime is less then 3sec, he will go away and find another server . Or game...

If you dont have skilled enough opponents - it would be good idea to try another server. That at least will keep less skilled players in game.
And if you do have right opponent, but you fiel that some players don't match you - don't pay to many attention to them. Let them have little fun to.

In my opinion your wrong here... I have not found another game game with as much to learn. The shear amount of gameplay styles that people can play is rediculous. In all the other games you listed this just isnt true. Especially call of duty, where your gameplay is practically mapped out for you. If all the players care about is graphics then id rather they didnt play dm, they'll only ruin it anyway. They could never learn to love something that takes so much dedication to become skilled at some of the gameplay methods.

DM never really had that many players to begin with anyway i dont see what the problem is actually. Just invite everyone who hasnt got it to download it, and invite your friends to play games everytime you play. If you arent inviting your friends to servers you're "DOING IT WRONG :D"

Two things though:

1) HL2DM will never die really as the game will never be removed nor will people ever stop playing it. The reason for the aperant "death" is actually a change in public taste and trends: shooters aren't at the top of the scene nowadays although i for one hope they make a comeback :)

2) Adrenaline Gamers 2 has just released publically only few weeks ago. some of you know it in its previous form as HL Pro or DM Pro. In any case and whatever you experience was with the old mod - it includes a vanilla mode where you can play regular HL2DM without all the bugs and crashes. ALL known game features are there and nothing was removed other than, again, bugs. so if you're looking for something stable as far as gameplay experience goes - download AG2 and start playing it.

We can't really trust to hope that Valve will ever update HL2DM or eknowledge it in way. with this in mind - keep playing the best game ever!!

I play cod modernwarfare 2, but i always return for more dm, notin beats a classic death match...

Personally I disagree. I play all those online games regulary apart from bad company and half life is twice as good. But thats just me

There are way too many great games out there....Valve killed dm....TF2,L4D,L4D2....killed it...then COD and Bad Company 2 just finished it...the real problem is....the dm players that are left are...are either true die hard dm players...or..their single core 939 FAT32 systems cant handle anything else except DM...dont get me wrong its a great game..but..there are way better games with way better graphics...with way larger communities out there....IF valve decides to make a HL3 w/ a dm....it wont be nothing like the old one..and it might be just a lil too late...L4D series made valve wayy to much money for them to focus on a hl3....we will see a L4D3 before we see a HL3...times are changing...get used to it

hi all.. as i started playin hl2dm maybe 3 years ago.. there was 2mio peoples playin and nealy every server was full.. but now only about 20.000 active players left.. sadly this great game has become kind of unattractive .. ;( and many players explore newer games with better graphics now.. still hope valve will bring a new dm.. (without changing too much on gameplay) but this also will cause all the existing good maps will be gone then.. that would be a shame ;( .. i hope our prayings will be heard.. cause my opinion is all games without gravgun just sucks..
