Bandit Robbing Someone

Bandit approaches a victim Uses his 'G' Key and states his intentions and threatened actions
e.g.
Bandit: “Stand and deliver or I will take thine life from thee”
Victim: uses his 'G' key and replies and maybe the 2 come to an agreement. Some loot might be dropped and the victim goes his way.

The victim's actions defines what will happen next.
If he draws a weapon, battle will ensue.
If he drops some loot, the bandit may let him go.

What shouldn't happen is murder for murder's sake.


Someone is perceived as trespassing

Claim-owner selects his G key and asks the trespasser nicely to leave his property
Trespasser responds by pressing the G key
Trespasser then carries out one of the following actions
Apologizes and leaves (Most typical outcome)
Becomes aggressive but doesn't draw a weapon
Becomes aggressive and draws a weapon

Abandoned Buildings

If an area has been deemed as abandoned by an Admin, there will be a 24 hour Real time warning before destroying any buildings in the claim. If the area remains unclaimed, the buildings will be removed.
Claims can be made by placing a crest on a structure within the building. Once a claim has been fully established you can do with the site and the materials as you see fit

If one Guild has a grievance with another, then each Guild should try to resolve their issues using diplomacy.
For example, they may settle their dispute by
-Agreeing on compensation in the form of goods.
-Handing over a Guild member for punishment

-Any other agreement that fits into the role-play aspect of the game

Declaring War

If the diplomacy stage fails, then a Guild leader or spokesman can declare war on the other Guild. A pre-war period must occur before hostilities can break out between them, which is:

(If day, the following sunrise)
During this pre-war period, the declaration of war must be made public (e.g typed in Global chat several times, warhorns blaring, banners placed)
When the pre-war period has passed any of the guild members are free to attack their opposing guild members once their identities have been confirmed.

This covers any attack on a base that can damage base materials.

Sieging can only occur when clans are at war

If one clan wants to siege another, they must have an Admin present during the process. If no agreement can be made then the admin can set the date and time.

Can only take a prisoner of war from a warring guild while at war
Player must be traded for release within a real time hour. If no trade agreement is made within that hour then the player should be executed or released

Ending Hostilities

Wars will end when either
One side has surrendered
Both sides agree on a ceasefire
The losing team must abide by the terms & conditions of the surrender.
If the losing Guild parties cannot agree on the terms then the King must step in and make a decision.

Placing Bounties

A Guild can place a bounty on someone's head without the consent of the King, provided the following conditions have been met:
Must be placed by the guild leader or the official spokesperson
As for any RP Killing, , the victim can only be killed when their identity has been proven.
If this is not sanctioned by the King, then this could be deemed a criminal act under common law jurisdiction and therefore subject to the law of the land

Becoming the king

This is exactly the same as the process of declaring war on a Guild.

Once a successful attempt has been made, the new Monarch has a 2 hour real-time grace period to secure his throne and recruit a guard to protect them. The Monarch is not above common law

Damage to someones property is a criminal act covered by Common Law unless the property has been declared as under siege.

kidnapping is defined as taking a freeman captive without their consent unless

You have made a citizens arrest for a suspected crime with the intention of taking them to Haven's Jail to await trial

If your kidnap victim dies while in your custody, it may be deemed as murder and you will be held accountable for it by law.

Hostages who give themselves freely as part of a diplomatic negotiation do not fall under this category and must be cared for, fed and watered and treat as an honored guest.

Trespass

Common land is defined as
Any land without a claim or claim in progress
Any land within a claim that is outside any obvious perimeter wall
As a freeman you have the right to roam on common land.

Private land is defined as land encompassed by a wall within a claim
Any other land is classified as common land
For example, a resource node is outside the perimeter wall of a claim. A player is allowed to freely walk in that area and gather from that node
Should the player move inside the perimeter wall and when asked to leave does not. This is trespass and falls under the jurisdiction of common law

Citizens Arrest

Any freeman can make a citizen's arrest if they believe their intended target is either wanted by the law or suspected of breaking the law.
To make a citizens arrest you need to state your intentions and why you are about to take them.
You are allowed to use rope or shackles to detain your target.
While the arrested citizen is in your custody you have a duty of care to the prisoner
if your prisoner dies while you have them in your custody, you may stand trial for their death.
On making a citizen's arrest you should hand the target over to the nearest authority or take them directly to Haven, where they should be handed over to the authorities and placed in Jail to await trial ---------------------------------------

You are not allowed to build within 10 meters (Blocks) of the edge of another claim
You can build what you want providing that the building is deemed as being:

Server Rules

These are non-RP server-side rules to ensure quality of service. A breach of these rules can and will result in punitive action taken by the Server Staff.


Common Law

This is the highest form of law. These laws supersede all other laws, and there are none who bear the authority to change them except the Server Staff. These laws establish criteria to protect the citizens of the land from unwarranted aggression, theft, and a variety of criminal acts. These laws are punishable by the King in a fashion he deems fit.


King's Law

This is the second highest law of the land and can be anything within reason that the king wishes Providing that:
It does not conflict with any common law


Magistrate's Rules

These are any rules that the Magistrate wants to enforce within the village of Haven.

Lord of Kraven's Rules

These are any rules that the Lord wants to enforce within the Kraven Outpost. 
Providing that:
He satisfies his own repugnant desires
It does not put him in a weakened position to which he could be overthrown

If you believe you are a victim of one of the above crimes, then please contact an Admin. You will need some evidence, be it screenshots or video evidence. Be warned, all arguments are biased, both points of view will be investigated where possible.

KOS

This is deemed as unprovoked non-RP attacking and killing of a player.
Initial kick with a warning and instructions on where to read these rules.
Continued offenses will force a ban.

If you believe you are under a KOS attack then it is imperative that you carry out the following action
1. Press your E key and keep it held in (Which will pop a GUI up with their name)
2. While holding down the "E" key Select F12 for a screen capture and send it to an Admin.

Under no conditions do you respond with aggression. The screenshot can then be used without any defense and get the player banned for good.
It may also be prudent after taking the screenshot to scream KOS over voip or in chat just in case the Aggressor went through RP and you didn't notice.
If you respond with aggression your case will be weakened against any KOS claim.
If proven KOS your inventory will be replaced by an Admin by the contents of the aggressors inventory.

Player Interaction

When a player meets another player and wishes to interact they must use their "G" wave key to introduce themselves first.
This is especially important if aggression is likely to occur and must also be followed through by logging that intention using the in-game text chat.

This is one of the most important rules. RP cannot possibly occur if no conversation has occurred or warning given before actions are taken. This specifically means you cannot go up to another player, tell them you are about to attack them and a moment later do just that.
In real life, arguments evolve into more physical confrontation as things escalate. Not Wham bam you're dead...... THAT IS NOT RP

Even bandits need to use their G Key and type their intentions, and if robbing somebody, should go through the process of "This is a robbery, hand over your gear or I will attack you."

and then give the player a chance to respond with a chance to talk their way out of a situation. Anything short of this will be KOS.
