It may lead some people to it yes, but Nationalism as a whole doesn't encourage it.

I just think, *for my people*, my country is more important than any other country. I don't think we're superior than anyone else, I just think that for my people we should focus on our country before anyone elses, as do many nationalists.

I don't know how you can seriously say nationalism doesn't encourage racism / bigotry. At the very least it certainly leads to it.

it encourages us to care more about your own nation and your own people than anyone else, if that means rejecting harmful ideaoligies, or shunning those who wish to harm our nation then fine. It doesn't mean we are going to completely ignore the outside world, it just means we put our own countries first. there is nothing wrong with that.

I'm not saying the ideology is bad because you're all nasty people, I'm saying it's inherently ♥♥♥♥ because of how it encourages adherents to actively shun outsiders and reject anyone who's different.

Social skills, I'm not great at em but that there is common sense, you can't make friends with people just because someone who shares a similar opinion to them once upset you thus you're just going to assume everyone with that opinion is a ♥♥♥♥.
