Announcement regarding the Discord group for the OB: W2 Rules server;

Dear Wreckfest players, we have opened up a new Discord server especially related to the OB: W2 server, also known as ‘Sam’s Rules Server’.

There will be a general text & voice chat, an overview of the current moderators + admins team and an extended explanation of the rules that are enforced on the rules server.

We’re opening up this channel to have a communal information point for all players that often visit Sam’s server and just to have a good laugh with the rest of the player base.

The new Wreckfest build has been released

New way of moderating in Sam's Rules Server

Hi everybody, I’d like to make an announcement regarding a small, but important structural change in the [UK] OB:W 2 server, also known as Sam’s Rules Server.
Please take a minute or two to read through this thoroughly.

We sometimes get to hear that the moderators in this server aren’t “doing their job” properly. Now in fact, not all of the mods in there want to take on the task of warning, kicking or -in extreme cases- banning but are just there to change track, number of laps, weather etc when asked.

To resolve this problem, I’ve come up with the following idea;
->> Mods will be there just to change track/laps/weather etc
->> Admins will also take the responsibility to follow up people’s behavior in server and will warn, kick or ban the troublemakers when needed.

When there isn’t any admin around and there are people taking advantage of that situation, you can still ask a mod to deal with the rule breakers, but please don’t make ‘em do that if they don’t want to take on that responsibility, as it’s not what they intended to do in the first place.

I’ve had contact with all current mods and admins on the rules server and had almost a 100% response rate from the guys, telling me if they wanted to be either mod or admin in this new way of running the server. So far, it has received very positive feedback from the current mods.
This means we all know now what is to be expected from who, this is not only a clarification for the current mods but also towards everyone who visits the server.

The server message will also display the rules that are in force on that moment (they can be altered by admins at any time if the majority of players agrees with them), so it’ll only take one mouse click now for the admins to display the rules instead of typing it over and over again.

There’s also a Discord channel in the making, dedicated for the current mods/admins on the server. Hopefully this will result in improved communication between them, plus problems can be dealt with in a less devious way and decisions+actions can be taken faster.

If there is a conflict between you and a mod or admin or if you feel you’ve been treated unfair, please contact me through Steam or Facebook and I’ll see what I can do to resolve the problem.
I specifically say ‘me’ because most of the time Sam has to deal with the ongoing discussions between different parties and we all know he has better things to do than resolving feuds between players.
