@VastCody Thank you for reading our comments and taking them into consideration! :steamhappy:

@kiampp exactly and well said. Everyone here is into computers and gaming (hense we are all on Steam), so we all enter those kinds of contests, cause that is what we like. I understand Vast's point about not wanting bots, but there should be a way to do it without disqualifying people who enter a lot of computer and gaming contests, which is most of us. There are so many neat contests with so much cool gear, rarely will anybody enter just one. And Vast contests have some of the best prizes for gamers, which is why we all want to enter, and why we are all disappointed if our entries might not count. Here is wishing you all good contests and good gaming :steamhappy:

@VastCody
I don't use socialmedia but I have some accounts made to follow some people or so that I able to contact some companies on twitter etc. If you look at my account then you will mostly see giveaway tweets.
With the giveaways I only click the things that I can do and I skip the refer a friend stuff etc.
I am most certainly not a bot, but if you are looking at my account then it might seem that way.
It doesn't seem fair that I would miss out on winning because you can decide my account is not social enough. I am still giving likes, follows and retweets etc so I am helping the person that stars the giveaway. Maybe not as much as other people but then I also have a lower amount of entries.
Without knowing if my win would be disqualified I am not sure if I should spend anymore time on these giveaways...

@buppy maybe your privacy settings are not set to public, making it imposible to check the groups that you joined
NySoRi 22 Aug, 2018 @ 3:37pm
@Cody R. you say that you check every account link to the gleam. Now i'll try to explain myself the best I can (english isnt my main language). Do every account counts as a "giveway account" from the beginning of the check until you find activity from one of them?, or, if any of the linked accounts happens to be one that the winner entry doesnt use much (or maybe never), is flagged automatically as a "giveaway account"?

"Only people that have joined Vast Giveaways group on Steam can get this entry" But I've already joined. :|

so i'm reading all of these comments and stuff and this actually sucks to hear that i'm not eligible to win even if i was selected simply because i don't like twitter and only have one for giveaways. this blows.

A giveaway by definition: an item or service given freely, with nothing expected in return; i.e. a giveaway for promotional purposes. Thus by screening winners, or accounts it is no longer a legitimate giveaway and has turned it into a competition, and should be labled as such with disclaimers such as how active one needs to be on there socail media accounts as well as how much time must be spent logged into Twitch, watching different streamers, or Youtube accounts. I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS FAKE. I am aware of Gleams credentials, but what concerns me is the integrity of the "Giveaway". If you are screening anything for any reason, then you can't really refer to this site or group as a "Giveaway" group. Its essentially false advertisement.

I have to be honest, I don't use social media to post stuff about myself. In all honesty there aren't too many people in this world who need to know what I ate for dinner or how I am doing, for those individuals they get phone calls. Twitter, I subscribe to, soley for the purpose of following the streamers and things that interest me. I use these accounts to peruse the things that I find interesting, which by what the Admin for Vast GA has stated, makes me automatically disqualified for any giveaways, since I would be seen as bot account or non-engaged user. So, for someone to "decide" what a "non-engaged user" is based on how the individual interacts with his or her account, and using that as a biased basis for eliminating potential winners, essentially riggs the competitions. So this is not a giveaway group at all.
CodyReese 21 Aug, 2018 @ 2:21am
Hey guys, appreciate the questions. In most any cases we check all the social accounts attached to your entries through Gleam to determine if you are solely using them as giveaway accounts. Reason being, our clients don't want that the winners seem like bot accounts or non-engaged users. In reference to the Twitch subscriptions actions, though we know this grants those with the funds and means to sub an advantage in the giveaway this decision is made by our clients or the influencers we work with. However, I will let you know it's on rare ocassion that the winning entry is from actually subscribing to someones Twitch account. We will look to having Sub feature be equal to a follow action in the future we appreciate your feedback. Also, any reference to our giveaways being fake will get you banned from the group, we have done more then enough to prove our giveaways are real.

@NySoRi I do not know. I didn't think I had mine linked, but when I tweet on twitter it goes to Facebook too, so I guess they are. @Digital209th I agree with you about the double or triple extra entries for Twitch Subscibers. The contests that have that are pay to play and I will stop entering those. I understand why they do it, trying to generate income for the Youtuber, but it just seems very unfair to those that do not pay. Maybe Youtuber's should have special contests/giveaways for subscribers only, and other contests/giveaways for the rest of us. I am still hoping VAST answers our questions here, but I am fine not entering their contests anymore as there are plenty of others to enter. Good luck to @NySoRi, @Digital209th, @Seaduellist in all the contests you do enter. Hope you all win something nice, and good gaming to you also! :steamhappy:
Seaduellist 19 Aug, 2018 @ 8:01am
Yeah Please answer MjrMayhem, how do you determine what a "giveaway account" is?
Digital209th 19 Aug, 2018 @ 1:05am
More Rigged contests with no winnners and have to pay to subscribe to someones twitch account , plus let gleam.io take over your youtube just to enter , cant be legal , most real contests require no purchase...... obviously not the case here as the subscribers get an extra 20k entriesi because they actually con do the 17 things required to get the last 10k and the first 10k is for paying to supscribe.
NySoRi 18 Aug, 2018 @ 12:19pm
@MjrMayhem I have the same question. I happen to have social accounts but I dont really use twitter and on facebook I stopped posting stuff a while ago, I just surf trough the wall most of the time. The most I use are steam, youtube and discord. Should I unlink twitter and facebook for future giveaways?
MjrMayhem 17 Aug, 2018 @ 12:15pm
I have a question, which directly relates to whether I continue in your contests and groups or not. What I would like to know is how do you determine what a giveaway account is? I have one twitter, FB, and Instagram account. I only post gaming stuff on twitter, and never anything personal. I enter a lot of contests for games and computer parts since that is what I enjoy doing. If you looked at my social accounts and see I enter contests a lot, am I automatically disqualified from yours? From reading your rules I think I am, but some more clarity would be helpful as at this point I am planing on stopping from entering your contests completely.
