On this day the UB community counts 6 years of existence. Huge goal to be reached by any community or project and still going strong. It's great to see that the core of the community is what drives us forward however everyone helps.

I'd just like to personally thank Dolph, xATx, Cylo, Adex, Nikolai, Ghosty and of course John. They've done a great job at keeping everything secure and going forward.

Now with the new map rotation system, a whole new map (vyten) and some amazing new faces like Bleeker, Katie and Kander we have done a lot. Sadly lost some too but that can always change!

You do have to know that gmod has been in a very difficult state over the past year but fear not to keep going and keep learning until the end. It's amazing how much knowledge can translate from gmod.

Also reminding you of the building competition on 9th of April!
Even if you aren't too skilled at building this can be used to improve your skills, aslong as you have the will you should absolutely join!

Anyhow we reached 6, but can we reach 7?

We have done it yet again. Half a decade has been reached! I cannot thank all of you enough for making this place what it is.

This year may have been very difficult for a lot of us due to a very specific virus and likely lots of personal problems that everyone faced. However we made it here. Many great things very started and many finished. A very major update hit UB in this year and it has improved the experience quite a bit. As well, the timeline project began somewhere near the end of 2020.

Many great events were hosted, many great memories made and many great friendships achieved. I specifically want to thank xATx, Barack, Mac and Cylo for their dedication in the community. Dolph and Ghosty for coding personalized addons to improve the server and all of you who played and made someone's day at least once.

Let's hope another great year awaits us and remember that unity and creating is what keeps us going. So get out there and make some builds.

How about we do 6?!

Here we are with another update. Many of you are aware that UB has been doing a lot of changes lately starting with new noclip system and ending with simfphys limiter. The first part of the update is finally here!


LUA noclip in buildzone. Everyone can now noclip in buildzone without exception. I don't need to be online for you to noclip. Thank Dolph for coding this for us!

Complete overhaul of the tag system. With this new system custom tags are possible and already have been given to lucky individuals who won in one of the two challenges that we hosted so far. There is still one that we'll host next weekend!

Simfphys limiter for all simfphys vehicles. To avoid the unfair usage of simfphys armed vehicles we added a limiter which doesn't let an individual spawn more than one simfphys vehicle in 3 minutes (could change to more or less). Currently only the weaker tanks are allowed. Thank ghosty for coding this one!

Major meta change. With the addition of Arccw weapons and removal of DOI a lot has changed in the PVP meta of the server. Attachments, ammo type and your overall strategy will now impact your performance a lot more!

As well we have started a community project where we will try to gather all historical information about the server and compile it into a timeline as a community! If you want to share something do so in our discord server.

Here we are, I honestly didn't think we'd get here considering how rough this year was.

Yeah, this year way very rough both in real world and here. Two major eras ended in this year of UB's lifetime. First being the great revolution of 2019 and second being the "Age of agents". Both these were very difficult periods for us, especially for the veterans but we endured. Now I can see a brighter future with my condition improving as well as the server itself being more stable. The courage is all we need to continue and nothing will bring us down. ^^

I cannot forget the positive stuff, still while the year was rough I also think that it's the most success we've ever had. I would personally like to thank Ausus, Cylowalker, xATx, Zakki, Ghosty and Dolph as well as many other wonderful people for all they've done. I still think this community is a very unique one in the sbox realm so let's keep it that way, let's get to the 5th year!

For those of you who're into UB's culture and history, today at 18:00 GMT+1 will be a little talk about everything that has happened in this year and so much more! I hope to see you there.

Tomorow we're awarding the "2019 Veteran" Statuses! Everyone who was somwhat active in 2019 can earn it. Make sure to be active in the discord server tomorow.

We're doing it at the start of december rather than new year since it doesn't make sense to give someone 2019 veteran status at the VERY VERY end of the year. If you don't get it tomorow, you probably won't unless there was a mistake.


I will give veteran status to anyone I feel like deserves it, but if you were active durning 2019, you can claim it in the next week. Minimum required playtime is 18 hours. (Has to be all in 2019.)
