@Agera, sry for the late response haha. It's not really worth it if you play for the rank. It's still worth it if you like to play with your friends for fun. CS:GO is just too outdated to really care, unless you're an actual pro. Sadly, there are no real alternatives at this point of time, which I think is one of the main reasons why people still play CS:GO.

Tempted to get back into CS:GO and get back to GE. Is it worth it, or is it still crap haha

I change my crosshair on a daily basis, in other words, sometimes I use crosshairstyle 5, but most of the time I use 4, because I don't feel the need to have a recoil indicating crosshair, but sometimes it's just fun to use.
Like many other things, this is all personal preference.

Why dont you use cl_crosshairstyle 5?

I play on 1920x1080.
I used to play 1024x768, 800x600, 1280x1024, 1280x720 and 1600x900. but it all doesn't matter. People prefer low resolution because they are used to it from 1.6. This is the reason that most pro players use a lower resolution.
There is no "best" resolution. Just use what you think looks good and feels right.

Truveh do u prefer low resolution or low resolution? Some peopel says that it is easier to hit enemies with low resolution becuse they are thicker but what do u prefer and why? :D
