Young Americans view of the Bible will shock you

In the largest study ever undertaken by the Barna Group on a single generation’s take on the Bible, it found many trends in Millennials (Americans ages 18 to 29) that some might find disturbing.

Partnering with the American Bible Society (ABS) and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) in the study, Barna discovered many intriguing facts about young Americans’ perceptions, practices and beliefs about the Bible and those who read and live by its teachings.

-According to the massive study, nearly half (45 percent) of non-Christians argue that the Bible is just an instructional book of stories and advice compiled by men, while just 27 percent of this group say it is the inspired or actual Word of God.-

- “About one in five say the Bible is ‘an outdated book with no relevance for today’ (19 percent) and more than one-quarter go so far as to say the Bible is ‘a dangerous book of religious dogma used for centuries to oppress people’ (27 percent).”-

The Most Serious Civil Rights Issue Today

Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., once stated in an article “If Dr. King’s dream is to have true meaning, babies' civil rights must also be respected. Dr. King (MLK) once said, ‘The Negro cannot win if he is willing to sacrifice the futures of his children for immediate personal comfort and safety.’"1

It is a sad reality when any group of people are oppressed. When a group, that for whatever reason, has been unjustly misused, abused, look down upon and killed, this is tragic. It is especially tragic when the group is in a situation where they cannot speak for themselves.

Sadly, this is very much the case in our culture for children in the womb – unborn babies. In our culture, children in the womb are considered “Non – persons”. In our culture, a child in the womb can be legally killed at the wish of the parents.

Some would argue, “babies in the womb are not a race of people”. Well, why are they not? They are a group in our world – like other “groupings” of people who have been historically oppressed. They have been denied basic human rights because certain persons in our world decided they have no rights. Much like the Jews in Nazi Germany, women in the 1800’s and early 1900’s,African Americans from the founding of our nation up to through the 1960’s, unborn children have this in common. Certain individuals decided that they have no rights. Again, this is tragic, unjust and WRONG.

Fifth-graders admit plot to kill girl who was 'really annoying'

"That staggering possibility hit the citizens of the rural Washington town of Colville on Feb. 7, when two fifth-graders were arrested and confessed to a plot to kill not only a female classmate, but six other children. Authorities found a semiautomatic handgun, clip and knife in the backpack of one of the boys, who complained that the girl had become rude and "really annoying." Police later overheard the two talking about killing whoever had snitched on them, too. Although children 8-12 are not considered mentally capable of criminal intent under Washington law, the local prosecutor plans to proceed on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder."

This Country really needs a great spiritual and moral up-lifting. It goes to show how quickly our country and moral fibers are self-degenerating, when you have young children plan mass murder directed at other children during school.

"I grew up and received my first rifle at 10...most of my friends did as well...Bought my first pistol @ 14. Was bussed to a school during integration that had racial tension and violence on a daily basis. Never did it occur or cross our minds to bring a firearm to school. We all carried pocket knives...never pulled one. The difference from today? We all came from 2 parent families, went to church, started off the day with the Lord's Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance until 6th grade...So when you read something like this, thank your local left wing progressive that killed any moral codes or codes of decency in public education because one out of a hundred kids might be offended.. "

HE'S GOT IT! We took God out school! God is a gentleman and will not go where he is not welcome, so who is it really to blame when tragedies like these occur? We pushed God out of schools beginning in the 60's and thats when we started getting large scale shootings beginning with the
"Bell tower sniper" incident. I pray that one day we may again integrate God back into our school systems, and give our children Bible's instead of Science books. Because when children are taught that life is nothing but happen-Stance and that there is no accountability who's to say that killing the 'annoying' girl is wrong?

My children will definitly remain Home Schooled.

Recently I have witnessed so many young people claim that thier is no god, it breaks my heart to see such young children with so misguided and corrupt thoughts. I pray for them and hope you do as well.

Mark 16:16 ESV
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Like I always say. Would you rather live like there is a god and find out there isnt or live like there isnt and find out there is. We should be as the Disciples were.

"And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

By this I don't mean to hold a sign up, and scream at people threatening them with hellfire and brimstone. Forcing it on people just produces deaf ears, and uneeded attention. We should be more subtle and help people on 1v1 basis, if found this method to be much more successful.
