See our friend's point of view at Summit Reviews

We here at TGT don't beat around the bush. We say it as we see it, with jokes when possible. Other Curators are much more concise and professional, such as Summit Reviews, owned and operated by a friend.

So if you're looking for something new to play, something you might've missed, or thing to steer clear of, check them out. Summit Reviews, the high of Curation. That's not the actual motto; much too modest for that kind of claim.

Check it out here:
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/41449676/

Have a good weekend and try not to fall for any of the industry's anticonsumer shenanigans.

Rockstar Teases More Online Shitnanigans

Full story here on the Rockstar Newswire.[www.rockstargames.com]

And when I say "full," I mean "standard Rockstar teasing that confirms very little. If it's to be believed, they allegedly haven't abandoned the money-printing GTA Online or its afterbirth cousin, Red Dead Online.

The three screenshots show a Red Dead jungle cat, presumably some kind of rare boss you'll never get to see, a new GTA supercar (overpriced, no doubt), and some Red Dead dude with what we can only assume are new microtransaction-only cosmetics.

Digging through the text brings up a few points. On the Red Dead side, there's some variety of "all-new Role," that aims to "introduce players to the secrets of naturalism." This doesn't bode well. All of the Roles need to be purchased with the microtransaction currency this big-budget game somehow has, and they are all boring, repetitive grinding. Worse, this one sounds to me to be thematically similar to systems that already exist in game: you're already picking plants and crafting crap out of them.

Worse, the post mentions "a new Outlaw Pass," Rockstar's latest attempt to cash in on the hottest new anticonsumer fad of pay-to-grind passes. In game with little to do. In which clothing and consumables are commonplace. Atrocious. Do you really expect anything more from the asshats behind the "season pass" concept of excised/resold content from a full-priced unfinished product?

On the (possibly) bright side, those of us who still play Red Dead so as to not lose our months of grinding can look forward to "tons of community-requested features and fixes," "including some new extensions and augmentations to an existing role in Red Dead Online." Does that mean it won't disconnect at the drop of a hat? Will Camps finally fucking load properly? Will be able to make private games, like we could in GTA IV & V, and Red Dead Revolver 2: The Redemption?

Doubt it. The game has so many issues that even my point-form review hit the character limit. Still, "a massive new update" hits RDO on Tuesday the 28th, yeah, THIS coming Tuesday. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

As for GTA Online, which is legitimately fun if you're playing it properly (in Closed Sessions with friends, communicating through external chat programs, deliberately making Empty Public Sessions for the few gameplay modes you bother to do that requires a Public), there's some new shit inbound. "A summer update to GTA Online is [...] on the way," the Newswire post continues, claiming it'll offer "a fun mix of diverse new content." So, what, some silly new Adversary Modes that'll need 4 people and no one will touch after the 2x Rewards introductory week?

More interesting is the next bit: "the biggest ever update for GTA Online, featuring our latest take on Heists in an entirely new location." Now that right there is exciting. Original Heists were great, IF you could get a group of four people together who knew what the hell they were doing. Doomsday Heist improved on the concept, no longer requiring four motherfuckers, and the open-world Prep gameplay meant you could knock out all of your Preps solo in an Empty Public before wrapping up the Setups with only one other friend online.

The Casino Heist made it even better, with picking out your Crew, choosing approaches, and tons of replayability. Even better, you didn't even need a Public Session, so you and your bros could blast through that shit in a Closed Crew and run a Casino Heist a day if you wanted. We'll see what this one offers.

But "biggest ever update" and "entirely new location" for a new Heist? I'm sure someone's already datamined what he could out of this but I haven't looked anything up yet.

We'll see what happens "in the months to come," in the "summer update," and "[l]ater this year." Just don't buy any microtransactions.

Rockstar Boards the Hottest Anti-Consumer Bandwagon

Psst, hey, kid?

Ya wanna download some launchers?

Big Rock has gone and done it. They now have a Rockstar Games Launcher, which, guess what, if you have GTA V on Steam, you now have.

Wait, what?

Launching GTA V through Steam now launches the Launcher, which signs you in and starts your game. So basically what the game's built-in game-proprietary launcher used to, right? Well...

Running the Launcher by itself also lets you get a free copy of San Andreas. A Rockstar Games Launcher version of San Andreas. A game you probably already own multiple copies of on multiple platforms. Like, say, a Steam copy. The Launcher also lets you launch your installed Steam Rockstar games... which you could do through Steam. The hell's the point?

The point is, like all those other extraneous launchers other publishers force on us, Rockstar wants us to use their own bullshit malware to undoubtedly sell their games on, exclusively.

So if you had any hopes of seeing Red Dead Revolver 3 or GTA Vice City 2 on Steam, well, we might have to guess again.

We'll see.

The Final Month of Winning Putt: Thicc Golfan Waifus

Some games are laidback, perfect for unwiding after a long day (like Farming Sim). Others are powerful toolboxes used to create delicious vidya women, with plenty of physics. Others still are free to play, and can be enjoyed without paying a damn penny.

But the intersection of the Venn Diagram of all three of those categories is small indeed. And on 14 December, 2018, it will get even smaller.

On 14 December 2018, Namcai-Bando's physics-filled free-to-play golfing MMO, Winning Putt: Golf Online, will regrettably be shutting down.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/458960/Winning_Putt_Golf_Online/

This game earned its place on our True Game Truths' Curated Game Curation lists, including spots on the Chosen Game Choices and Wifeable Game Waifus lists. Check out our Curation here:
https://store.steampowered.com/curator/28898588/

In Winning Putt, you could make stacked thicc golfan waifus whose thighs were so deliciously thicc that they'd clip through each other as your character walks around, and her hands clip through them when she sits. Yet, there was such attention to detail that tits would get pushed together by the biceps rather than clipped through. Didn't expect that level of detail.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=792459529

You could unequip all that cumbersome clothing if you wanted to, but even when golfan clothed, the outfits were so tight, skirts so short, and bump mapping so realistic that you could see tight golfan knickers through the tiny-ass skirts. Unfortunately, there were no summer swimsuit events, but still.

And it was a fun-ass game with a real laid-back non-tryhard playerbase, too, so that was nice. You have until 14 December to check it out. Enjoy the Thicc Golfan Waifus while you still can!
