Making a new Discord just for Gamesketch

First things first, it's been almost 10 years... Hope everyone who ever played on one of my servers is healthy.

I have some good news... I managed to get back gamesketch.net as a domain so now I want to create a discord just for gamesketch and get the community back together so we can discuss what games everyone is playing.

I'm looking for anyone interested to be a moderator, please contact me on discord or directly via steam.

I want to give you a place where you can talk and chat with eachother as much as you like with fair admins, fair moderators and amazing people that you might call friends one day.

Gamesketch was about the people, I always asked myself; How can I make this place the most enjoyable expierence for everyone and I'd like to think that we managed that quite well.

Now first things first, It has been a LONG time that I have talked to any of you so I'm sorry if I can't remember each one of you in additon I cannot just give you back your old rank however if you want to be moderator you can always talk to me in private and I will discuss it with our admins.

What is going to happen now?

I'm inviting you all to my discord that I have been working on the past 2 years mostly with close friends and selected members of the old Gamesketch Community.

WHY NOT "THE GAMESKETCH NETWORK!!!???

You probably ask yourself why I changed the name and why not gamesketch anymore. The answer is quite simple, gamesketch.net domain has been snatched away from me a long time ago so we thought of a new name (it was laberbear also known as Alex22 who brainstormed that name with me back than)

Hello old gamesketch fans!

Hey there my friends,

Its funny that most of you guys are still in this group, I guess half of you are from the Garrysmod server alone.

The bad news first, No We will not restart a garrysmod server at least that is not planned.

The good news is that I am planning on opening a forum again on a new website which means we will be back together as a community if we pull this off right.

First thing is setting up the forum, After that we will be able to discuss what games you guys play, like and what we might support.

When the time comes I'll announce it.

Downtime?

Ah yes our favourite time, Downtime.

Right now our GMOD servers are offline due to an issue with our admin plugin that is causing a lot of crashes and issues, Due to this we are keeping the servers offline until we fix this.

We will keep you updated on this, and hopefully things should be back to normal by tomorrow.

Turns out that the day we decide to return, Garry has released a new update. That has broken everything!

Stay with us while we attempt to fix this/ find out more.

And We're Back! Gamesketch Servers Are Up Again!

As of today our servers are back up again, We're sorry for the inconvenience that our downtime caused but now all our servers are back up and running! Hopefully this can be avoided in the future and thanks to all of you who donated!

So jump back on and let's get things rolling again!

Why the server has been down, a explaination.

So as many of you have noticed the server has been down over the last week. This is a rare occurance and unfortunately we have not been able to do anything about it but wait it out.

This post has been made due to the rather rude messages that me and other members of staff have recieved demanding the server to be back up and complaining that it is down. There is nothing we can do about it and all of this is done out of one guys pocket so the demands without support are not appreciated.

Now as many of you may not realise, running a server is highly expensive. Nexitem pays for the server costs completely by himself. There is no support by anyone else in this and in the 3 years that the server has been running there has been little to no donations to support this. Unfortunately I (James2wenty) cannot aid him with the bills due to not earning money (I'm a student) and I only have enough to afford food and rent. Now this will be changing in the near future, but in the meantime we have to wait it out till Nexitem is paid.

This was all due to an unfortunate lack of money this month and shouldnt happen again , Hopefully in the future we can avoid this by working together to keep this community up and eventually keep things running solely on donations but until then it would be great for people to contribute.
