Also booting ubunto off a flash drive was a fail. Im going to try an alt method using virtualbox to boot ubuntu.

And why Skyrim over Oblivion? These toasters will probably not run Oblivion well, let alone Skyrim. I guess you can try though, and if nothing else just so we can have a free copy on a flashdrive for our PCs.
