Hey. RADR sent me. I'm just wondering when does Season 4 begin and can I play even if the version of the game I got doesn't have Steam built into it.

So, I won a game against my opponent in the competition, what happens next?

I beat RADR in a game a couple weeks ago and challenged him again...only to lose badly. Now I'm here. :)

Hi, I joined the league recently and was wondering when Season 3 will start sense I missed the sign up for the last on. I've been challenging people within my level range, but sometimes people haven’t been finishing the games and I've been getting some free wins. I'm guilty of not finishing a few games also, and it's usually because I got sloppy and went on a losing streak. I just want o play and finish games, so I thought this would be a good group to join.

I'm the minister of spectating here (with my asistant Freakinger), so if you have any questions you can forward them to me. But you can compete anyways once the next tourney starts, just as long as you follow instructions and stay active.

We are actually in the middle of a tournament right now, so it might be a week or two before you can take part in your first tourney with us. In the meantime, I'd be more than happy to play a friendly match or two with you.

Hey! I recenty re-installed this game after being vacant for a year or two. I was just skyping with my old friend Blue Baboon, and as he was telling me about this group I got matched up versus RADR in FS. I had a nice chat with RADR and he suggested that I join this group for some interesting matches. Baboon invited me, I hope it's no trouble. I haven't played too many matches, but as I see you encourage smacktalk I can inform you that me taking out my own unit didn't prevent RADR from walking home in shame!

ps: Don't mind my profile picture, it's a swedish person who hacked my account 5 years ago and I haven't been bothered to change.

Oh YEAH! Ladies and gentlemen, this just goes to show that anything can happen on any given Sunday! The legendary RADR (droehrman), level 5 zillion+ in FS, has been defeated by the humble and meek Samps84 (Junglist Soljuh), a level -1 in FS!

Samps moves on to round 3 of the Tourney.

First, fantastic name, I love it. Second, the whole livestreaming games thing sounds awesome (it actually did pop into my head at one point, but I never seriously thought about doing it). One major problem is that there is no 'spectator mode' and you can only view games once they have been completed, at least to the extent of my knowledge. This would be a topic to bring up with the developers of the game (they're awesome people, btw) if you wanted to get serious about live streaming FS games. Casting them as replays would be much easier, but you'd lose a lot of the atmosphere and excitement, as well as lose the ability to see what each player can see, so you'd have a much harder time discussing things such as strategy. Just my two cents, and I applaud you for showing some initiative here. Good luck with all your endeavors!

I'm a crazy person who undertakes crazy projects, so I'm gonna be investigating the idea of livestreaming some part of the competitions. Just putting that out there.

Well, it is much easier on me to do it this way, and much easier on everyone involved too--no having to weed through everyone sending me scores, or looking up games, etc. It is all given to me by the system. While I will probably have to run some special events independent of the system, for now I'm sticking with it.

As to the seeding, while your ideas are perfectly reasonable, they are also pretty much wrong. Don't worry though, I find out the answers. I only know your answers are wrong because trying it multiple ways does not yield results that match that thinking.

You are probably pretty much correct on "Group," though. Everyone plays everyone else in rounds, then I don't know what happens after all the rounds are done; your guess is as good as mine, but we will find out soon. At least with that one I understand how the bracket is set up initially!

@Smell: I googled a bit but found nothing. So here are my ideas:

The system is about the sorting, who vs who.
Unseeded: Your stats aren't important
Global-seeded: The best vs best (after global stats) and so on
Pre-seeded: dunno
Group: some games and the best quote after all games.

Srsly, this seems totally broken to me.
I see two ways:
1. We try it with some participants, who are ok with this.
2. We don't use the Tournament feature and do it all on our own.

Question for the masses:

Does anyone in the group understand the various "seeding" types in the FS Tournament set-up? I understand what Global Seeded means, of course, but can't really tell that it is doing what it might be supposed to! I have no idea how it selects the matchups with "Pre-Seeded" and "Unseeded," and as far as I can tell, Grouping set-up is just everybody playing against everybody else through a round format (our next tourney type most likely, btw).

Any help on this would be highly appreciated. I'd like to shake things up, but since I don't understand them all that well, I'm sticking to the simplest one for now.
