Got invited by RADR, too, so here I am. Hope to have some good games with you. My FS nick is Minjak. Feel free to challenge me any time in any dark mode game (well, I prefer if it is not extermination).
I'm the minister of spectating here (with my asistant Freakinger), so if you have any questions you can forward them to me. But you can compete anyways once the next tourney starts, just as long as you follow instructions and stay active.
I was invited by RADR(droehrman) for showing off some skill after getting my pity arse served to me several times xD
I'm a lazy member of Steam community — more of a player if You get what I mean, hehe.
Nevertheless I am excited for tournaments if not as a participant then as spectator.
Ok, thanks! :)
We'Re currently running Tournament 2, but I'm sure that Tournament 3 starts soon ;)
Just ask Smelly for more Information, he's the boss! :)
I was invited here by Mr. RADR(Mr. droehrman). I beg your kindness.
I'm Japanese. I'm not good in English. I slow to read and tipewrite in English. Sorry.
My name is Vivis-JP in Frozen Synapse. When log on, I look forward a challenge anytime. I work out a plan for a long time. I will often keep you waiting. Please permit.
I look forward to a league match.
@griz these games are as nerve recking as our single sitting match in tourney 1.
ps: Don't mind my profile picture, it's a swedish person who hacked my account 5 years ago and I haven't been bothered to change.
Samps moves on to round 3 of the Tourney.
Let's hear some Congrats for the lad! Well done Soljuh.
Don't get all happy yet though, I have no intention of letting you take me down as well!
PS: Smack Talk is highly encouraged here folks, so have at each other! In fact, I may make it a requirement to belong to the group. Officers, what do you think?
First, fantastic name, I love it. Second, the whole livestreaming games thing sounds awesome (it actually did pop into my head at one point, but I never seriously thought about doing it). One major problem is that there is no 'spectator mode' and you can only view games once they have been completed, at least to the extent of my knowledge. This would be a topic to bring up with the developers of the game (they're awesome people, btw) if you wanted to get serious about live streaming FS games. Casting them as replays would be much easier, but you'd lose a lot of the atmosphere and excitement, as well as lose the ability to see what each player can see, so you'd have a much harder time discussing things such as strategy. Just my two cents, and I applaud you for showing some initiative here. Good luck with all your endeavors!
Well, it is much easier on me to do it this way, and much easier on everyone involved too--no having to weed through everyone sending me scores, or looking up games, etc. It is all given to me by the system. While I will probably have to run some special events independent of the system, for now I'm sticking with it.
As to the seeding, while your ideas are perfectly reasonable, they are also pretty much wrong. Don't worry though, I find out the answers. I only know your answers are wrong because trying it multiple ways does not yield results that match that thinking.
You are probably pretty much correct on "Group," though. Everyone plays everyone else in rounds, then I don't know what happens after all the rounds are done; your guess is as good as mine, but we will find out soon. At least with that one I understand how the bracket is set up initially!
The system is about the sorting, who vs who.
Unseeded: Your stats aren't important
Global-seeded: The best vs best (after global stats) and so on
Pre-seeded: dunno
Group: some games and the best quote after all games.
Srsly, this seems totally broken to me.
I see two ways:
1. We try it with some participants, who are ok with this.
2. We don't use the Tournament feature and do it all on our own.
Kidn regards
Freakinger
Does anyone in the group understand the various "seeding" types in the FS Tournament set-up? I understand what Global Seeded means, of course, but can't really tell that it is doing what it might be supposed to! I have no idea how it selects the matchups with "Pre-Seeded" and "Unseeded," and as far as I can tell, Grouping set-up is just everybody playing against everybody else through a round format (our next tourney type most likely, btw).
Any help on this would be highly appreciated. I'd like to shake things up, but since I don't understand them all that well, I'm sticking to the simplest one for now.
Great to have you both in the group. My FS name is "grizwalter," btw. I'll be friending you on Steam and in FS.
Welcome aboard!
RADR send me. :)
kind regards and Prime the Systems!
