More specifically, the task in question is either being performed by a human individual who receives a majority of their income and/or social reputation by their ability to test and design systems, or the sixth playable class and third “defense” class in the 2007 Valve Software video game Team Fortress 2Though the connection initially seems tenuous, there is a chance the original phrase from which this response derives is in fact a reference to Team Fortress 2 - specifically a screenshot wherein an in-game operator assuming the alias of “engineer gaming”
