New Missions

*A brand new mission line is now available: „The Vanishing of Tyler Freeborn“.

*The Uncertainty Principle – the mission to the new Auxiliary weapon ‘Quantum Brace’ has now been activated. To get started in this mission, talk to Moose in Kingsmouth.

*From Carthage to Cairo - Tanis in the Scorched Desert needs help in covering her tracks in her involvement of a certain shipment.

*Obstructive Persons – help Alina Florea in The Shadowy Forest with her plans to leave Morninglight.

Although should you choose to, you can pay a monthly fee to get some advantages over the common crowd, such as:

The Time Accelerator (100% XP boost from kills for 1 hour, 16 hour cooldown)
$10 worth of Bonus Points (given out every month)
Item-of-the-month gift (given out every month)
10% discount to everything in the in-game store.

Grand Masters gets all of the above, making it a total of 20% discount in the in-game store.

Don't forget the Alternate Reality Game-event, a couple of in-game rewards for whoever participate in the event. Running until the 21. of December.

Massive PVP update

Player vs. Player systems are also getting a huge boost. There are new missions in Fusang Projects and the PVP reward system is getting a revamp. Balance in the fight between Secret Societies is also being closely looked at, both for minigames and in the Warzone. An example of this is the new Underdog mission in Fusang, where the weakest side can gain the help of a powerful Custodian.

The Albion Theatre

Another brand new feature is the Albion Theatre in London. Here teams of players can rent the stage and put on any plays their creative minds can dream up. They can choose between using a host of backdrops, setpieces, cutouts, effects and sounds to set the stage exactly as they like. They can then tell other players about their show in the city wide chat channel, in Agartha or in the forums, so anyone can come and watch.

Reticule Combat

Players are able to use the new feature called Reticule Combat. This option locks the camera movements to your mouse and a targeting reticule appears in the middle of the screen. Your attacks will go where the reticule points and you can easily swap between targets just by changing direction. Reticule Combat can make fighting more direct and action filled, and can be especially helpful for targeting for ranged players and healers.

Wield the Chainsaw

Introducing the second Auxiliary Weapon with Issue #4 – the Chainsaw. You can now assist Dr. Aldini in New York by collecting body parts for his research, and be rewarded with this vicious tool of death. The Chainsaw is a close combat weapon, which can do both great area and single target damage. It can however be particularly useful for Tanks, because the Chainsaw offers additional options for Hate generation and a clever defensive shield which reflects damage back to the attacker.

Raid in the heart of New York!

Terrible creatures from beyond are attacking New York City. The players must band together in groups of ten to take on this threat. They will travel through the subways, streets and buildings of the city before arriving at Times Square for the showdown with the final boss.
The Raid group must use clever tactics and have good cooperation to defeat this immense monster attacking New York. But the civilian population is still caught in the war zone, and if the players cannot defeat the boss in time, the US military will try and deal with the threat themselves by bombing – causing devastating consequences for all.


Issue #4 brings a host of more stuff to The Secret World. A new set of missions is introduced, which includes two Investigation missions, two Action missions (one of which give the Chainsaw as the reward) and a full set of Lair missions. Nine beginner Decks are made available, to help out new players in their early days. A height slider has been added to character creation and the plastic surgery, and the Slaughterhouse Dungeon has finally gotten its Nightmare mode.

The Halloween event will run through the end of October and into the first week of November, so there'll be plenty of opportunities to take on the challenge and learn what's behind this new, dark threat to The Secret World.

Halloween will offer several missions which set off a brand new storyline and a brand new villain.

In addition to fresh content, such as new locations and monsters, the Halloween event also brings with it tricks, treats, cool new costumes and special pets.

'The Binding', which brings you to the City of the Sun God in Egypt to learn more about the Seven Sentinels. This truly epic investigation mission is definitely one of the most challenging and extensive in The Secret World and will offer even the most hardened puzzle solvers a run for their money.


The werewolf Traian gets a brand new action mission in the Carpathian Fangs. 'Dogs of War' plays on the mounting conflict between the vampires and their allies. Use your wits and battle prowess to instigate a war between the werewolves and the vampires, and exploit the ensuing chaos to defeat enemy commanders.

In the coming weeks you should also look forward new outfits available in the in-game store and a completely new awesome pet with a jet pack on its back!

AUXILIARY WEAPON #1: THE ROCKET LAUNCHER!

Introducing a brand new weapon, featuring seven brand new abilities, wrapped in a brand new auxiliary wheel!

With the addition of a third weapon and eighth ability hot-bar slot, you can now augment your existing decks with the awesome might of the rocket launcher. The rocket launcher that goes 'Boom!'.

More details will be revealed very soon -- and this is just the first of many auxiliary weapons to come! We're already working on the next one…and The Secret World should prepare for a real Texas-style massacre. Rrrrrreeeennnennennnennnnn!

THE MODERN PROMETHEUS!

Inside an abandoned abattoir in the bowels of Brooklyn, the infamous Dr Anton Aldini (Peter Stormare) has set up his paraplastic surgery -- the Modern Prometheus --

With the Modern Prometheus, we're introducing new heads and new facial features, allowing players to completely alter the way their characters look. The first visit is free, but subsequent nips and tucks will cost PAX. Coupons will also be made available in the item store for those players who are short on in-game cash.

OCKHAM'S RAZOR!

Unhappy with your hairstyle? With your beard or moustache? Your makeup? At Ockham's Razor in London, you can change them all!

Doubling the number of available hairstyles, players can use in-game cash (PAX) or coupons purchased in the item store to alter their 'do, facial hair or makeup.

NEW MISSIONS!

Mission Pack #2 -- part of September's issue -- adds new investigation missions, the auxiliary weapon mission, and lair action missions to the game:

'Digging Deeper' continues the story that began with The Kingsmouth Code, and sends players back to Pastor Henry Hawthorne at the Kingsmouth Congregational to dig deeper into the town's secret history and Illuminati legacy
In 'Death and Axes', players learn more about Sophie's close connection with the spirit world. In Transylvania's Besieged Farmlands, the dead are restless, and Sophie is increasingly sensitive to their pain -- causing Cern some concern for her well-being, and sending players on an investigation into the terrible events that have transpired here
'Strangers from a Strange Land' introduces players to the ancient history of Solomon Island, going back to when the island was visited by Norsemen in their longboats, a thousand years ago. This investigation begins with Red (of Red's Bait & Tackle) and introduces players to a pair of famous talking ravens from Norse mythology...
In Transylvania, Iele -- the guardian of the Shadowy Forest -- needs the player's help in order to revive her 'Singing Stones' and fight the growing infection that threatens this delicate magical sanctuary
Acquiring the first auxiliary weapon -- the rocket launcher -- won't be a cakewalk. In the first of a series of exciting auxiliary weapon missions, players will work with the Council of Venice to retrieve a highjacked shipment of rocket launchers. During the course of this mission, players face powerful new Orochi technology, travel to a brand new location, and come face to face with the two-faced Phoenicians

Two additional dungeons are receiving Nightmare modes in issue #2: The Facility and Hell Eternal.
