Good job on the win, lads.
mxrxk 9 Oct, 2010 @ 7:49am
Congratz!
Covert 3 Oct, 2010 @ 8:04pm
I am out of state this Sat-Wed (Oct. 9-13). My little sister is getting married
mxrxk 1 Oct, 2010 @ 1:39pm
on school days though, 6:00 is a must.
mxrxk 1 Oct, 2010 @ 1:39pm
hmm
either will work, but i prefer 6:00
[ITL] Jay 30 Sep, 2010 @ 6:37pm
New polycount weapons will NOT be allowed in the highlander tournament.

That is all.

JK I GOT ME A FEDORA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

And the new knife unlock is exactly how I said it should be since updates started. Just want to make sure you know that. Don't ever forget it.

How are we feeling about this update? SPUFers are raging pretty hard but I'm cool about it.
[ITL] Jay 28 Sep, 2010 @ 7:25pm
6th or 7th I'm thinking
Covert 28 Sep, 2010 @ 1:40pm
I vote that we try and move it. I want you in there. If that isn't the route we go, I would rather play spy then have someone sub it. I like Badwater Basin a lot, there are some interesting things that can be done there.

I should be good for a Wed or Thurs game as long as it is not Oct. 11, 12, or 13 (Wed).
[ITL] Jay 28 Sep, 2010 @ 11:48am
Well fffff-.
Hate to be a huge hypocrite, but with our first game being somewhere during the week of the 3rd, I won't be able to make the saturday (homecoming dance).

I'll leave it up to you guys as to what you think we should do... try to find another day or just have someone sub spy. Would a Wednesday/Thursday night game work?

Oh, and our first game will be on badwater and dbowl. They updated it I'm guessing and now the gravelpit/upward game is for the first matches after the group phase, which is what we're in for the next 3 weeks. I'm sure everyone will be familiar with the basics.
Ris 23 Sep, 2010 @ 5:52pm
6pm is better for me
Covert 23 Sep, 2010 @ 2:03pm
I would prefer the 6pm
the_real_thing 22 Sep, 2010 @ 9:39pm
I always prefer later, but either of those times will be good with me
[ITL] Jay 22 Sep, 2010 @ 7:59pm
Okay, as of right now I'm going to leave two options open, Sat at 6pm CST and Sat at 9pm CST. Continue posting here with your preferences.

ETF2L finally announced the official start of the tourney today, so expect a game soon. Still getting in touch with the other leaders.
CWal37 19 Sep, 2010 @ 7:43am
Yup, all of those times work for me.
Rainseeker 17 Sep, 2010 @ 5:21pm
Saturdays might work
Ris 17 Sep, 2010 @ 2:42pm
All those times will work for me.
mxrxk 17 Sep, 2010 @ 2:32pm
fridays after 6:00 will work with me and saturdays anytime before like, 9:00 will work. Sundays will not work anytime after 7:00 for me.
VolVoX 16 Sep, 2010 @ 7:05pm
Fridays will almost never work for me, Saturday and Sunday are better.
Covert 15 Sep, 2010 @ 2:24pm
Sundays are the worst time. I have several things that I try to accomplish on Sundays, including some gaming with family. I would rather work around a Friday or Saturday schedule.

Also, I can usually plan to be available, especially when I know of something coming up. If things are not going on though, it would be nice to know that I would have our usual game time free for other activities.
the_real_thing 14 Sep, 2010 @ 8:34pm
o yeah fri I work 5 30 - 8- 30 that s 7 30 - 10 30 central
the_real_thing 14 Sep, 2010 @ 8:32pm
I work 6-9 on sun... so that would be 8 - 11 central
[ITL] Jay 14 Sep, 2010 @ 8:31pm
Those times are CST - sorry
[ITL] Jay 14 Sep, 2010 @ 7:15pm
We NEED to find a time soon that everyone KNOWS they'll be availible, so we can start planning these official matches. Weekends I think will be best, so to start off, please let me know if any of the following DON'T work: Friday 9pm, Sat 6pm or 9pm, Sun 6pm or Sun 9pm.

Other than that I suggest everyone just keep playing, stay in (virtual) shape, and play a few highlander lobbies if you see them. You all have the ability to make announcements now too, so feel free to arrange mini-practices or whatnot.

Please remember these games coming up will not be like the ones before, you WILL need to make them once the times have been decided. Sudden spontaneous paralyzation? I don't care. Wild guitar lesson appears? Je ne care pas. Joining this team was making a commitment to roughly the hour or so these games will take. Just make sure to LET ME KNOW ASAP about scheduling conflicts so we can all agree on the best time.

That aside then, I am genuinely looking forward to our first game. :)
[ITL] Jay 14 Sep, 2010 @ 7:08pm
blah... it really sucks we've not been very active the last week or so. I'm half of the reason, with school and swimming taking up essentially all my spare time. And also those last few matches that kept being cancelled last minute were kind of a downer.

If you don't already know, we've been secured a spot in the tournament, in group #191. Head here http://etf2l.org/high/provisional-groups/ to check it out.

You'll notice team Scar is in just the group below us, and NVG down in 199. It's likely we'll be playing one or both of them.

OtakuScott from scar also just sent me this link, thought it was pretty funny to see this moment from their perspective (it was our 6v6 vs them that one time) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3TXbETmzj8
the_real_thing 11 Sep, 2010 @ 4:30pm

The only way out is the only way in. Jay's Bellybutton.
Dei 30 Aug, 2010 @ 12:02pm
Hmm, the only way out is through the perfume department :D
Rainseeker 30 Aug, 2010 @ 10:52am
The only way out is through the yogurt shop in front. The cops are watching the back.
Frankly Sinatra 28 Aug, 2010 @ 7:20pm
This is a family.
the_real_thing 28 Aug, 2010 @ 2:24pm
i didn't realize this was a clan... is it like a gang? where the only way out is through death?
Ris 26 Aug, 2010 @ 3:49pm
Definitely pubstars
Frankly Sinatra 24 Aug, 2010 @ 4:51pm
Pubstars
Dei 23 Aug, 2010 @ 9:36am
I know I'm a Psycho :D
[ITL] Jay 22 Aug, 2010 @ 6:36pm
Are we heroic people, pubbers, players or pornstars?
Dei 19 Aug, 2010 @ 11:10am
Sorry for my inactivity, but my timezone is a ♥♥♥♥♥ :D I hope I can stay as sub and play on the matches, if they are in my timezone
Frankly Sinatra 18 Aug, 2010 @ 8:19pm
Welcome to our new members, when you get the chance throw me a jingle, I like to get to know everybody. Again, the offer of practice is universally open. Though I understand if you prefer keeping your brains inside your skull instead of splattered on the wall oppisite my line o' sight.
[ITL] Jay 18 Aug, 2010 @ 3:09pm
Scout - Ris
Soldier - the_real_thing
Pyro - The Great Gummybear Massacre
Demoman -
Heavy -
Engineer - Rainseeker
Medic - Spai
Sniper - Devil's Luck
Spy - Jay

Sub 1 - n0va (buddy)
Sub 2 - Psycho
Sub 3 - chillice
Sub 4 - Dark

Updated roster. If you've been moved to sub, its probably because of a mix of too little communication with me, too low attendance, or timezone constraints. Talk to me if you want a specific answer. I encourage you to stay on as a sub, and subs can of course still attend practices, but I understand if you'd rather leave.

I also had to remove two of the inactive subs due to team size limits.

The game that was in planning for tomorrow has been cancelled, which means we may end up with another night of practice. Hopefully we'll at least have a full team by then.
Frankly Sinatra 16 Aug, 2010 @ 8:42am
Agreed, Im ready whenever you need me, but I just want to forwarn that I'll come screeching in right before the match, I will be there in time though, I promise.

**Disclaimer: Match Details Follow, if you are not a TRAHP member please do not read this**

As far as the actual match goes, as a support class, there was not much directly I could do to help, though our Engineer and our Pyro need to practice. Team on Team, we need to select points on each map where we can rally the troops so we can send all 9 of us at them at once.

Our current squad (Offensive) is
A: Heavy + Medic, Pyro.
B: Demoman, Soldier, Scout.
Support classes: Sniper (Selective based on what is happening) Spy (Wrecking Engie) Engineer (Build a god**** teleporter)

I reccomend sending A squad in first, and have them focus on killing, not capping, while B squad rush the point. We kind of rushed it, popped our uber first, then died in a bloody masse' when it faded, and our B squad was without cover and got ripped up.
Ris 15 Aug, 2010 @ 9:02pm
Those days and times work for me. As for the game... I'm finding highlander a ton of fun. IMO, the strats aren't nearly as important as basic coordination - ie, falling back when too many players are dead, regrouping before making an offensive push, defending against pushes towards our Medic, etc. We just need more in-game practice with a stable group of players.
[ITL] Jay 15 Aug, 2010 @ 6:23pm
I encourage everyone to voice their opinions on the match, scheduling, or anything here. Thanks, and again, GG. A lot of fun.
[ITL] Jay 15 Aug, 2010 @ 6:22pm
Thanks to all who showed up, and to n0va who provided us with the server. I spoke with Scott after the match and we've scheduled a match for the same time next Sunday.

Regarding practices, I'm looking at making it a regular thing every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, the same time as what we've been doing. PLEASE let me know ASAP if these days, or the times don't work for you. We can replan and time it so we get everyone in attendance.
[ITL] Jay 15 Aug, 2010 @ 6:11pm
A definite GG in my opinion, despite a few small irritations. We did lose, but I felt a lot of the team got some good experience from this, and gained some familiarity with what this competition's going to be like.

I think the mains problems were:
- Foreign server. With only 1 member of our team during that match based in europe, the ping issues were definitely pulling us down.
- No shows. 10 minutes before the game began and we still had 4 positions to fill. A third of our team during the match weren't actually team members. Not good. Thanks to those who let me know ahead of time that they wouldn't make it, but the others should know that there is roster change coming up soon and this will be taken in to account.
- It was our first game; with strategies being made during the 30 seconds of setup time, of course things wouldn't go precisely to plan.
Frankly Sinatra 14 Aug, 2010 @ 9:33am
If anyone wants to practice against a sniper, let me know, I'll be happy to kill you over, and over, and over.
Pedroso 13 Aug, 2010 @ 10:05am
My ping was high on the pratice, but, the gameplay was good as normal :)
[ITL] Jay 12 Aug, 2010 @ 8:59pm
Practice game scheduled for this Sunday with Team "Scar", and if people are around earlier we'll try to get ingame and work out some strategy.
Dei 12 Aug, 2010 @ 8:11pm
Servers all around Europe are fine for me, but for the ones in the USA :/
the_real_thing 12 Aug, 2010 @ 5:57pm
I was at 200... rjing was off a lil bit but I didn't see any real problems no
[ITL] Jay 12 Aug, 2010 @ 5:52pm
Were anyone's pings a problem for them?
[ITL] Jay 12 Aug, 2010 @ 5:52pm
Successful first practice imo guys, and even though everything didn't go to plan (plan?) we got a lot done I think.

How does the same time this Sunday work for everyone then?

Also, pic is a placeholder until someone who knows how to use anything other than ms paint steps forward ;)
