3) IMO, survival needs to be balanced in a way that lowers the amount of time that a team can hold out by pushing their skills. For example, Parish Bridge on stock survival the current record is held by the Japanese @ 5 hours 40 mins. You never want a round to last this long :/
Weapon spawns that are on the top of the bridge are the cultrip here. Perhaps noting these kind of flaws in maps will aid you in balancing the survival game.

4) I've read that you were never very interested in L4D2 survival, and I respect that opinion, however, perhaps maybe you haven't played with higher tier players in survival, and perhaps would like to give that a try? See the tricks that we use, and perhaps you can better judge and find more flaws that you'd like to fix for a more competitive experience. The UK team is by consensus the best survival teamin our world so you are in a good place to get high tier survival information.

Opinions of a 1 L4D2 Survival Player

1) In general Survival players do not like randomness in a map (like Port Sacrifice), the reasoning behind this is because the score is solely based on time in survival, and to a lesser degree SI kills. If players are given random throwables for example, without a fixed number (say always 1 molo, 1 bile, 2 pipes) the time comparison cannot be made because 1 team had an advantage or disadvantage over the other. If you are introducing a point system, which takes this into account and are not basing things on time, then that's a different story.

2) I believe having Tier 1, or other low DPS weapons as substitute for higher tier is a great idea. I myself am working on several survival mutations that have this affect (though they will never be anywhere near as complex as a server side mod as mutations are very limited).

Sir, I heard about your work from a friend of mine, and I'm from a Survival Community Hub called Gold Miners. We have about 400 members, and I believe GM is considered the global Hub for Survival in general. I also see you have Toshly on your friends list, who is also an avid survival player. Some of the best survival players are in Europe, and they pretty much hold the majority of the survival records as well. Perhaps you would like to meet or get feedback from some of these players? I would like to extend an invitation to you for Gold Miners if you are interested. I look forward to hearing from you ^_^.

Update!

General:
- Optimized the config, preventing high ping spikes.
- Weather changes are gone for now, it crashes players with low PCs and it decreased FPS.
- Reduced common limit, they will keep flowing but at a maximum of 20 at the same time.

- Fixed Bug: Switching Map after starting the event would give you no spawn items.
- Fixed Issue: Removed a forced command (not needed in Survival) that would decrease Client FPS.

- Fixed the Mapvote plugin from crashing the server (Spec Glitch)
- Forgot a few Maps on the Mapvote plugin, plus fixed Typos.

- L4D1 Campaigns will still spawn Pills & Throwables across the map:
> The reason for this is because the method I'm using isn't working on them, I'm currently trying to figure out a way around. Unfortunately this is also preventing me from adding ammo/melee weapons and props to the maps.

Things I'm working on:
- Gathering feedback/ideas on the config.
- Checking for Bugs/Camp spots on current released maps, blocking them.
- Porting over other maps (Non-L4D1 until I fix the issue mentioned above)

For all you versus players:

Just give it a shot, it's not that bad at all. I've never liked Survival in L4D2 but I loved it to death in L4D1, I made it easier to enjoy. ;D

- Fixed bugs and glitches with items given to players.
- Items will now be given on Spawn, you will receive a "refill" on Silver and Gold medal.
- Fixed the Jockey Bug, no more 2x dmg and insta incaps.

This works on every gamemode.

- Stopped being Silly and added Command Instructions on Connect instead of Round Start.
- Added a BW Notifier.

==BW Notifier:
- Will show a Hint Message which teammate is Black and White.
- Will give the Player that's BW a completely white Glow.

- Optimized Plugins.
- Added A Reward System (BETA)

Reward System(BETA):
- Bronze Medal: Notify Players they got Bronze (Do nothing else)
- Silver Medal: Reward Players with a Medkit, Pills & Random Throwable.
- Gold Medal: Reward Players with a Medkit, Pills & Random Throwable.

- Fixed the !mapvote plugin from showing users that they don't have access.

News:
- The config has been installed on a 3rd server because all of them are also used for PCWs. Another server can't harm anybody.. ;]

Parish Map 1:
- Removed a few weapon spawns.
- Placed an Ammo pile in the Cafe.
- Removed Tables in the Cafe.
- Added one Deagle Spawn.
===> Parish 1 is finished and out of BETA, enjoy.

General.
- Removed all Throwable spawns on every map.
- Optimized code.

Map in the Works:
===> Dark Carnival 3: Coaster.
- You can choose to hold out on the coaster or at the start of the Coaster.
- Weapon spawns and ammo piles have been placed.
- AI Pathing is patched and works smooth.

Known Issue: Loading the config on this map will turn you screen black, just wait, it's still loading. This is a bug on Valve's part, I think I found a way to fix it which I will test soon.

Quick Update:

Known Issues:
- New pathing fixes on Parish 1 are blocking tank spawns.
- Parish 1, SI getting stuck on the balcony near the bus.
- StartItems plugin isn't working fully. 1st round: double pills.

Quick Updates:

- Wrote a Plugin for forcing the Tank to push in, instead of throwing rocks.
- If a Tank hits a prop it won't dissapear after dying.

Goals for Today:

- Fix StartItems plugin.
- Fix AI Tank pathing on Parish 1.
- Add/Remove a few.
- Get Parish 1 out of Beta.
- Make a start on a new Map: Dark Carnival 3, Coaster.

Work Done on April 16th:

Parish: Map 1.
- Fixed a few pathing issues for infected AI.
- Added/Removed a few Props.
- Made all the Cars hittable for Tank (Except for the crashed car @ bus)

General:
- Made the game ever less forgiving by forcing attacks constantly after first Tank spawn (=0:45)

Keep on Playing and giving feedback guys, I can't test and experience every bug/glitch alone. <3

- Fix StartSurvival Plugin to not bug on 1st Survival Round.

Maps:
- Work on the Item Placement. (Remove slight Float)
- Configure maps to work on Survival.
- Block off areas on certain maps.

After a lot of serious testing, trial and error I have finally managed to be able to find a method to patch/modify maps rather quickly.

===>Parish 1:
- Bugged Walls have been barricaded.
- Cars, Police Fences have been added to make things harder and more intense.

Map is now considered: Playable.

===>General:
- Survivor Bots have been tweaked even further, expect moar awesomeness.
> No Random Scavenging.
> Melee for the bots turned out to be bad, so I turned it back off.
> They stick close and have been fixed to clear SI rather quick.

> Some Most Uzi spawns will have a silenced Uzi inside them aswell.

Main Test Map:
===> Parish 1.
> Known Bugs: You can go through the wood in the Cafe.
<{ - The AI does not consider these a part of the available path and will get stuck if stumbled/punched through it.

> Ideas on the way for the map.
<{ Remove the tables, chairs in the cafe.
<{ Make the wood solid objects or place an invisible wall inside to block.
<{ Place a smaller vehicle in front of the Cafe next to the Bus.

Priority List:
- Balance Spawns.
- Work in "Stripper" to block certain "bugs/glitches" to prevent exploits.
- Fix Tank_Damage_Announcement to work with multiple tanks.
- Fix Pills Spawn on 1st round.
- Add Random Throwables to Survivors @ Round Start.
