I don't have any hearing loss either. In fact, my ears are super-sensitive, so I have to tweak in-game audio settings to my liking quite often, and have to turn down effects and music just to hear the voices clearly enough in game. AND, I prefer to game with subtitles on so I don't miss any of the dialog, the most important part of most good games.

Gj all, Valve finally added the option "Subtitles" :)

Hi! It seems that your load voices are heard by Valve. A new section with tagged subtitles on the stare page are integrated.

The Languages section for some but not (yet?) all games now includes this information! (Specifically, it denotes Text, Full Audio, and Subtitles independently for each language.)

Not heard back from Valve yet and yes it's a similar thing, I've also addressed in my email to them that if they do not want to add a new feature they could improve on the old one because quite frankly more than 20 games on steam have captions available and it should show this.

Any word on whether this is being rolled out now? was just on a desc for Gone Home and on the side it says "Captions available"... is this not a similar kind of thing?

Signed the petition. Thanks for bring up this issue. I use subtitles in my games to pick up on dialogue that gets drowned out by outside noise, but it's also important for hearing-impaired gamers to know what goes on in their game's story.

I just wanted to point out that there is an organization/charity that attempts to fund raise for just this kind of thing and you very much could get them on board with things. I previously had contact with Robot Entertainment about getting subtitles added into their future titles as their previous ones had none and they were very polite in pointing me towards AbleGamers as well as stating that with great consideration to include them in their future games.

As well as releasing the transcripts of their previous games to me as well to help.
