I think a Padparadscha and Ruby fusion would make a Spessartine. Paddy is a special variety of sapphires, so she plus a Ruby would most likely make a different species of garnet. At least that's what I think.

Holy crap, You guys are never gonna believe what I saw on this reality show, "Botched" (which if you don't know, is a show about plastic surgeries gone wrong, and these doctors trying to right them).

Well in a recent episode, this one patient was this girl who was cosplaying as AMETHYST! No joke! And the more "current" Amethyst too!

Her costume was actually really good, well except for the bust size (which actually was the reason she came into the doctor's, due to complications with that). If you actually watched the episode, she even had the pants and the whip and everything!
Is that something or what?! Didn't expect to see this in a show like Botched!
