bout starcraft comparison - it had quite interesting engine. and even abitious scenario intersections, but game "in general"(setting/control/units) was just poor WH40k storyline simplification/purification. its nowhere near TA/Spring/SC in terms of RTS scale in both Strategic(where is SC1 and Evolution shine especially) and Action/Realtime. but honestly both interface/units/story had nice touch in StarCraft(both parts). p.s. don't mistake "SC" with "StarCraft" in post below its about "Supreme Commander"

in theory vanilla SC1 engine and concent better. but outweighted by nearly hungreds times bigger overhead/stress, its not really suitable for huge/long/complex battles/strategies, despite being aimed for. and since both GPG and THQ is no more there isn't hope for engine re-work/factoring and SC sequel/update, sadly. i personally had 4 vanilla and two FA boxes and probably keep play both, but hardly many ppl would and can do same.

sc2 is worse way worse
than zk or S44 or even techa and xta

grab the install file from http://sourceforge.net/projects/springrts/files/springrts/spring-0.80.5.2/spring_0.80.5.2.exe/download
Run the installer, open up SpringLobby, download yourself some games and maps (I recommend Complete Annihilation, Kernel Panic, and Gundam RTS for games, and Paradise Lost, Xenolithic, and Tundra for maps), join a multiplayer game, and start playing. :D

can anyone post a guide or how-to install this game? tried it a year ago but it confused me. i was a loyal player of total annihilation from way back.
