@Gutbomber: Lincoln's Republican party was opposed to slavery from the beginning and abolishing it was a main goal. Then again, abolishing slavery and giving actual human rights to people of color was a completely different thing, but I digress.

@gutbomber, belive it or not, Texas Is equal In culture, to Louisiana, and Louisiana is equal to georgia, we're all like one big family to put it simply out there. Texas Is seen as one of the bigger members of this 'family' due to state size.

Mr Grough i love virginia and pennsylvania(my family has some old origins from there) and if you live in a commonwealth of the UK like australia or canada during the civil war the british empire was going to get allied with the souther states so lets say that we americans still have some british blood im proud i like the Uk !!!

I am a proud citizen of the great Commonwealth (one of four) of Pennsylvania, however, I appreciate the cultural richness of the Southern states. As a matter of fact, I currently reside in the beautiful Commonwealth of Virginia. :)
