If you’re new to skins (or just tired of guessing), here’s the simplest way to understand wear and float in CS2 👇

1) Wear Quality = the label you see 🏷️This is what shows up in the item name:
Factory New (FN)
Minimal Wear (MW)
Field-Tested (FT)
Well-Worn (WW)
Battle-Scarred (BS)

2) Float = the real number behind the label 🔢Float is a number from 0.00 to 1.00.
Lower float = cleaner skin ✅
Higher float = more scratches/wear ✅
Two skins can both be FT, but the one with lower float usually looks better (and can cost more).

3) Float ranges (easy reference) 📌FN: 0.00 – 0.07
MW: 0.07 – 0.15
FT: 0.15 – 0.38
WW: 0.38 – 0.45
BS: 0.45 – 1.00

Quick example 👀FT at 0.16 is “almost MW”
FT at 0.37 is “almost WW”

4) Why float matters 💸Float affects value because cleaner skins are preferred, some floats make certain skins look way better, and extreme floats (very low FN or very high BS) can be collector-worthy.

5) Not every skin can be true FN ⚠️Some skins have limited float ranges, meaning they can’t drop in certain wears. So a “0.00x FN” might be impossible for specific items.
