I'm not quick to add an announcement here about a teamkiller/griefer because most exhibit pretty run-of-the-mill behavior. And server admins generally know how to deal with them and ban them at their discretion.

This griefer in particular tho has more tricks on their sleave and so I thought it is useful to post something about how his M.O.

- They join and immediately change their nick to the server admins,
- Then start to votekick the admin

A good counter against this tho is to have a vote manager installed on your sourcemod cocktail that gives you kick/vote immunity based on your steam id (if you configure it like that)

What prevents you to act quickly without the admin menu is when you have 2 players with the same name. sourcemod's auto-fill gets confused and you can't directly kick that player (if you don't use the admin menu).

If you're an admin and have to be fast because they are teamkilling everyone, you need to do the following:

type "status" and see the numbers in front of each player name, you have to kick griefers with that number (and be sure to add the hashtag symbol)

Remember they try to add confusion because they change to my name (in my case). So you also need to know your steam id number or you'll kick yourself :)
for example if you would see a number 1209 before the griefer player's name, then you have to !kick #1209.

Even when a user pointed out that I was the real admin because I used Zoey, the griefer added another bat via an exploit that I'm not going to disclose here.

It's rare to encounter such a relentless griefer. It would be prudent for everyone owning a server to ban this individual.

As you have already noticed it's steam sale and left 4 dead is reduced in price again; This means we can help new players get their achievements and that can be a positive experience (or a challenging one).

But it also comes with a bunch of fresh parasites from the gutter who find new ways to grief games. So I uploaded a new banned user file with added recent bans.

I've added the most active ones.

Recently, several of our most beloved trolls have started a new tactic to defame legitimate left 4 dead players. They do this by changing their profile page and assume the profile name and picture of a person, and then they start joining and destroying games.

I post their community number because they constantly "shapeshift" between (semi) known members of the community. Now, they are assuming the name of a friend of this group, yesterday they were a friend of one of this group's administrators. This way they try to confuse and mislead the community into thinking WE are the teamkillers. Yesterday alone: that person assumed 3 identities and started trolling on many servers.

There's also another profile engaging in this tactic. I'll try to obtain this and post it in this announcement as well, or as a commentary.

Needless to say we need to be careful and make sure that these trolls don't make us doubt about eachother's intentions.

For example me (the founder of this group) will always have the url:
https://v1.steam.hlxgame.cc/id/CosmicD. NOBODY ELSE can take this handle because I will always keep it. Somebody else would have to create a profile that's called CosmicD_ or C0smicD or whatnot, or resort to special characters.

Teamkillers who fake names will also hide in secrecy and keep everything they do offline. So let's try to use common sense and goodwill and first check if the guy who you think has become a teamkiller or sprung a few badsynapses in the brain, is the one you think they are!
