If you you are here to complain about hackers on the Rusty Trombone Server. You are in the wrong place.

There are about 30 Rust servers with the name Rusty Trombone. It would be impossible that this is the server, as I have stopped paying for it.

I am sorry you are having problems on the server you are on. Hope you get them resolved.

We have started up a new server for experimental Rust rather than the Legacy version, known as "The Rusty Purge"

Please feel free to join the steam community!
The Weekend Purge will commence Friday at 12:00 PM EST. Prepare yourselves during the week as PVE will be active until the Purge begins.

Performance Update Completed

Our provider notified me this morning that a performance update needed to be done. This is now completed, everything appears to still be here. I need you guys to test it. Tell me if it runs better.

Further to my last email, there has been a patch that has been released for Rust to correct the performance issues.

Please Steam update your server as soon as possible.

A reminder to those customers with mods, please uninstall the mod, steam update then install your mods again.

There is no need to wipe your server.

An Important Message from our Provider

Dear Community,

Sean here from FPS, I hope you're all enjoying your service with us,

Well it would appear that the first major bug with Rust is upon us with the latest Rust incompatible with the old .save files causing them to eat 100% CPU and induce lag onto your service. With an Alpha game bugs like this are bound to come up again.

We require that you wipe your server (Player + World Data) shortly, consider this a friendly request so you can communicate out to your players, I'd like to give you all 6 hours to do this however if your server has not been wiped within that 6 hours from receiving this email we will be forced to do this for you.

The button in your control panel marked - "Wipe ALL SERVER SAVE DATA" will complete this request for you.

Please don't restore any old save files, its those that cause the issue.

We appreciate your understanding in the matter, its not something we would want for your game server, unfortunately its now something we have to do and join all the other providers who are doing the same.

Rusty Trombone Relaunch

We are going to be relaunching the server with Oxide features.

Check out the steam page for updates on what new features we have and which ones we are working on setting up. This will take some time. So far so good.

Unfortunately, the in-game command list is not working so i have posted the command list on our group page.

Also, you can destroy the stuff you build and get back the resources by hitting it with a pickaxe. THOSE MIS PLACED PILLARS WILL NO LONGER HAUNT YOU.

Unforunate News...

The server had to be wiped again. Unforuntately, with the new update that brought its own door sharing and the addition of a new item. The Rust ++ Mod we installed stopped working. This also caused issues with placing the new items and the new door sharing feature from working.

To fix this we attempted to uninstall the non-functioning MODs one at a time.

The server would no longer start up halfway through this process. I have reinstalled the server from scratch now.

This is to be expected from an Alpha game. To fight this issue in the future there will no longer be any mod installations on this server.

Server Wipe! New Mod's Installed

The Rusty Trombone now has a Fresh Wipe. We have installed Rust++. This allows us to have more server features, including Door Sharing!

When you log in, type /help to view some of the other features available.

There will still be no air-drops as it is still more fun this way, as people will need to work very hard if they want to raid you.

Rusty Trombone is back up.
