WHY ARE WE RUNNING BACKWARDS?

C'mon, we've seen all of you do it in games at one time or another.
The Patriarch is coming atcha, that Tank gets you in his sights, the Heavy traps you in a corner. What do you do?
You run backwards! Guns ablaze.

CRITERIA FOR NEW MEMBERS

Grounded enough to be able to game with different age groups.
Well known by an existing member.
Capable of holding your own in game, without taking it too seriously.
Up for a bit of fun.

OTHER

Hurting others is frowned upon in this group, and posts or members may be removed.
This includes over the top swearing, racism, sexism, homophobia, and any other stupidism.

You must add Argy to your Friends List when you join this group.
Anyone in this group is allowed to use the <=RB= tag in their gamer name.

RUNNERS

People in this group are called Runners for short. Game events are usually divided into Northern Runners, for those in the Northern Hemisphere, and Southern Runners, for those in the Southern Hemisphere.
You can attend any event you would like to, even if it is in a different hemisphere. The reason why events are usually run in two parts is to attempt to get people of roughly the same Ping playing together.

SPRINTERS

We have some Sprinters in this group. These are people who have gone the extra mile and put a lot of energy into organising group events or competitions.
The following people have had the title of Sprinter conferred on them, and can wear a <=SB= tag if they want to.

Mouthwashing Discussion

I would suggest playing Mouthwashing, if it hasn’t come across your radar yet.

Then I suggest making some comments in this topic, about it.

I will leave this for a couple of days, and then add my thoughts.

It is a very slow burn of a game, with some deliberately dated graphics. It doesn’t become really interesting until halfway through.

Then you just can’t stop playing it.

Mouthwashing. It’s what your dentist never warned you about.

Of course I don't hate this group, however there is a game on Steam with this name.

I thought that was pretty funny.

You can buy the game on special now for under $5.

Sure, but my thoughts on the cutoff amount to "it's dumb, but cards aren't valuable anyway so don't sweat it".

So yeah, what I said second then; 1 year makes sense. 8 years does not. Valve why

You get cards for nothing if you vote in the current Steam awards.

Currently ONLY if you have at least 8 years of service.

Didn't really want a discussion about the value of cards. Just whether the 8 years cut off is fair.

I don't pay any attention to trading cards, so my comments are those of a spectator to what at this point is best described as a comedy.

I am curious to know one thing: Can you get any trading cards without spending money? Because if not, I don't see a reason to restrict it to even 1 year, letalone 8. Why worry if someone wants to spend money on their alt account? They still have to spend the money, and they'd spend it on their main otherwise, so nothing changes. They're just more obviously rich.
But if so, then I agree with maybe 1 year minimum age. That gives Valve a year to get stats on what the account does, and see if it's a legitimate account or not. Then they could just permanently prevent it from getting cards. There'd be some false positives here from people who don't use Steam regularly, since that looks suspiciously like an alt, but truthfully... I don't see it as a great loss anyway. You're still getting dirt cheap games, so it's not like you're losing.

What do people think about the fact that you have to have 8 or more years of service to receive trading cards for the current Steam sale?

I JUST made the cut off, but I think it's a bit unfair for people who have been a Steam user for say five years.
